Trying to break out of being shy of yourself? Try pooping loudly!

Okay I know this sounds absurd but it’s something I’ve been experimenting with and it’s helped me become more comfortable feeling awkward. In public restrooms on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I used to try to time my pooping noises with people using the sink or waiting until they leave the stall next to me or the bathroom completely. Lately I’ve been just intentionally trying to be as loud as possible as a way to break this anxiety of people hearing me. Then if people give you the stink eye, I’ll laugh it off and say something like, “Guess I need more fiber in my diet!”. Something silly but it’s been helping a little bit not feel so awkward just doing normal things.

Say something awkwardly in the future? Well at least it’s not as bad as letting one rip in the bathroom!
