While this game is fun, it doesn't allow you to annex other countries or puppet them. It instead a slow burn where you try to expand your economy while hurting other economies. I vastly prefer Hearts of Iron IV because it allows you to snowball your economy. If world conquests doesn't sound like much fun, but smaller and more frequent wars do then I highly recommend this game.

Early Access Review
I've been waiting for this game for about a year now, and I'm really not that disappointed. There is a huge learning curve, but after four hours of playing, I can say it's fun. A bunch of bugs, but fun.
