Early Access Review
Not enough people are talking about this game. The art style and character design is mosaic-like and incredible, The music is on-par with The Elder Scrolls series, the combat feels visceral, engaging, and weighty in a way that parallels and often exceeds FromSoftware titles, the game’s difficulty scales very well with multiple players and remains challenging on high difficulty, the loot and upgrade system rivals that of Diablo, and the cutscenes and voice acting are all top-notch.

It’s hard to say who this game wouldn’t appeal to. I’m wholly impressed by this game as a complete package. I don’t have any complaints. Yes this game is probably more money than most Early Access titles but you’d also be mistaken for thinking this isn’t a complete product. There’s tons of content here and I’ve only encountered one bug where I got stuck in a spot I probably wasn’t supposed to be and had to reload the game. For full transparency I also had a friend that could not get past the Prologue if he skipped the cutscenes. While re-doing the Prologue is annoying, I don’t find any of this deal breaking. We were able to diagnose our own workarounds without seeking help online and going forward we didn’t experience an issue again.

I will say performance-wise, when you transition from large world map areas such as the main area of Sacrament to other areas of the map, there is a pretty noticeable framerate drop but I give this game a pass for omitting a loading screen and doing so in areas with little to no combat. I believe the optimization will get better on full release and is not as bad for me personally as some reviewers claim. I have an i7 11700f and an RX 6900 XT and I play on recommended settings at 1440p with no framerate issues except for the transition areas.

There’s been a pretty big gap in quality co-op games that are also just fun single player experiences and this game excels in both regards. If the price is holding you back wait for a sale but know that you’re missing out! I see that a lot of negative reviews are centered around the bugs and optimization but this game is obviously Early Access and my personal experience despite that has been very pleasant.

No class-locked servers, trying to capture Warzone's market by making a worse version of Warzone, obnoxious skins for soldiers and vehicles. 2042 gunplay and worse destruction than BFV and BF1.

This game isn't for Battlefield fans and it isn't for whatever market they tried to entice.

As a result it's just a less-good Battlefield and a less-good Warzone clone.

This game has the honor of being better than Delta Force and BF2042 although that isn't a high bar.

Great game with some of the best maps, weapons, and game modes in the entire BF franchise. Kind of a shame this game didn't get more attention at launch.

The single player is very fun. Multiplayer is terrific and active if you change the BattleLog filter to allow EU. There seems to be a German server or 2 that's always popping off all weekend.

For those in the review comments complaining about logging in through BattleLog on PC: that is how you connected to BF3, BF4, and BF Hardline. It's not unique to Hardline and it was actually preferred so you could check your challenges, stats, and look at servers independent of the game. There was even an app on your phone where you could edit these things. I wish they'd bring it back to modern BF titles.

A week after buying this game I got grounded from playing Multiplayer for 2 weeks including PvE Zombies modes because they accused me of cheating. 2 weeks later Activision sent me an in-game message saying they got around to reviewing my account and found that I was in fact not cheating.

The fact that I was unable to play a game I paid money for without any concrete evidence or reason is grounds enough to never buy anything from Activision or Call of Duty ever again. If I am cheating, please ban my account. Being put through some weird judicious probable cause thing for 2 weeks in a videogame that I paid money for is absolutely outrageous.

I incorrectly assumed this game was a Korean trend-chasing cash grab.

Instead I found that this game has tons of content and a surprisingly enjoyable yet tough difficulty curve. I also appreciate that there's a certain element of control to the runs later on which help to balance out the crushing difficulty on the highest tier of the game. It also scales difficulty with multiple players very well which I appreciate in a rogue-like. Not enough people are talking about this game. I feel like I've played every Rogue-like under the sun and this may genuinely be the best one. 10/10

Play the first game if you have not and save your money. This game is fun, and gives you a good amount of content for the money but is inferior to the original Hollow Knight in just about every conceivable way except for overall map size. It feels very much like an extended DLC and not a sequel. The boss fights, the utility of items and passives, the hitbox/ hit detection, the platforming, the charms, the natural flow of progression, the power scaling, and much more feels *just like* or worse than the original title. There is nothing positive you can say about Silksong that has not been said about Hollow Knight.

Before mouthbreathing SkongGOTY Redditors doxx me- DO NOT MISINTERPRET WHAT I AM SAYING ABOUT THIS GAME: I think it is a good game and there is a lot of content here. I think it is well worth $20. However, this game is not an improvement from the first game. If you play the first game and want more of the same then I would absolutely recommend this title but it's not the place to start and this isn't a life-changing experience or anything. Start with Hollow Knight, then play this if you enjoyed your time.

Early Access Review
Very fun game! Has clear influences from early Resident Evil titles, 7 Days to Die, and many other great horror games.

Currently there is not real endgame except for an endless survival mode after beating the only available chapter. Temper your expectations for an $8 Early Access game and enjoy it for what it is or prepare to be disappointed with it's current development state. Do not be an idiot and buy an Early Access game only to cry that it isn't complete.

Despite being an Early Access game, I think the "sauce" of this title is an incredibly addictive formula that has a lot of potential. I found the enemies and puzzles to be challenging enough without being overwhelming, the sprite/ pixel art to be very well done, and the gameplay to be very enjoyable. This is clearly a "better with friends" experience but I think it also has a very good creepy vibe when playing alone.

I'm very excited to see where this dev takes things but for now the game is fun, isn't particularly buggy, and feels unique in the horror/ roguelike genre. For $8 I got 4 hours of fun with friends which I would say trumps the price of something like a $12 movie ticket for 2 hours of entertainment. If I never play this game again I would be happy with my purchase but I'm very eager to see what the devs do in the long term! What do you have to lose for $8?

Very fun game reminiscent of Gunfire Reborn. I think the overall aesthetic and atmospheric music is great. The weapons and ability are interesting, and there's a lot of things to unlock and do. For $20, I think it's really well designed, optimized, and more challenging than typical roguelites of this nature.
