absolutely flooded with cheaters atm. do not recommend playing until this is fixed.

currently, non-cheating focused programs like recording software can be used to see through walls using filters. the amount of people obviously walling in all 3 main game modes is staggering, and those are just the ones that are obvious. i'm sure the number is far higher (and it really feels like it currently).

siege has always had an issue with this but this is the worst it's ever been by far, coming from someone that's played since 2015. avoid until fixed.

i hate to advocate for a more invasive anti-cheat, but there's a reason league and valorant have such a small population of hackers, and why GTA V Enchanced got rid of modders almost completely from being one of the most notoriously modder-heavy games. it improves these games massively and is becoming a necessity more and more.

new UI is absolutely terrible. if it's not broke don't try to fix it!!!!!!!!!!! game is fine but ruining the UI for no reason is just so baffling and so many of these companies do it

really excited to see where this game goes!

the devs freaking rock. the game is really fun, but man, THIS is how you're supposed to develop a game.

isn't just another indie roguelite - it's probably one of the best roguelites, period. amazing both solo and co-op, with plenty of replay value and fantastic gameplay.

for now, i want to leave a negative review, as the development path this game is taking is bothering me. here are my chief complaints:

1. global chat needs to go, or at least needs high (and i mean high) XP limit, and CONSTANT moderation (which was promised and not delivered). the community in this game is bad enough as is, and since implementation, global essentially only contains A. trolls and people trying to get a rise out of others, B. people who whole personality is causing arguments, c. people saying awful stuff. the argument of "you can just not look at it" doesn't work when those arguments, trolls, etc spill over from global into local chat and into plaza servers.

2. since the 1.0 update, giant lag spikes that do not allow you to do anything for 5 seconds to a full minute have started occuring. this has made grinding scores and otherwise in plaza areas, especially the arcade, take so much longer, as the spikes are frequent and prevent you from interacting with anything during. this even happens late at night (2-5am EST) and has yet to be addressed despite occuring for multiple months now.

3. no age verification system. with the introduction of hostable condos comes hostable 18+ condos. i have done very little condo exploration in this game, and while people do awesome stuff with it, it is INCREDIBLY easy to access and find some really awful stuff - ie, places dedicated to non-con. r18 is acceptable in an environment like VRChat where you have to actually verify you are 18, and unacceptable in an environment where you do not have to, and KNOW that there will be younger folk playing the game.

if these issues are resolved i'll rewrite this review, but i feel this is important to say with my length of time in the game to advise people what kind of experience they are buying into.

this game is fun as hell and i can't figure out why

I'm sorry, but I cannot recommend this game to anyone not on sale. This game is not worth $40, and the fact that they have changed to a DLC-based model on top of the already too-expensive game, putting it at a full priced game for an early access experience, one which has developed at a snails pace for half a decade.

The season pass shoots the original project backers and early buyers in the face - you're only gonna offer a small discount on the season pass of the game we bought years ago? Seriously?

This game is worth $15, and the amount of content within it shows. Do not buy this game off sale. It does not offer enough content. And don't support the crappy business practices Bugbear has shown throughout the games development.

frustrating game, but once you figure something out, it gets fun. the addition of the defect a little while ago really improved the game for me, to be honest. lots of content to view, so many different deck builds that work.
