bought for full price on release and was extremely annoyed at how difficult it felt to begin with but was so damn addicting and eventually went through and beat it another 2 times

The definitive edition for AOE2 is a faithful recreation of the original title with all of the necessary modern additions that the original and the HD edition lacked such as proper scaling support for greater resolutions.
