A whole lot of fun, even solo. It's non-aggressive and non-committal as far as live-service games go, and the variety of weapons, movement, and customization makes gameplay feel fresh even after going a few months between sessions. It's definitely not well optimized. I know they've made some backend considerations for HDD and console players but by and large it should be running way better than it does on my system, and I am one of the lucky ones who hasn't seen anything more serious than the occasional crash. Anyone with a low- to mid-tier system will likely have issues, but I have faith in Arrowhead.

Aesthetically and sonically, this game is unlike anything I've ever played before, and it's worth the pickup for that alone. As a puzzle game I found myself unexpectedly having an easier time with the puzzles as I advanced through the game; it's designed to be disorienting at first, but as you get more comfortable with rotating, the puzzles aren't actually very complex. Well worth the 7 hours I got out of it as a one-and-done experience.

Very interesting game. The core gameplay is very satisfying to me, as you're basically trying to be as efficient as possible with so many different targets for delivery at a certain time; the tools you're given as you progress through the game allow you to tackle the more difficult deliveries in very effective and rewarding ways. The story is a little hard to gel with, and I don't particularly think the acting is anything special, though I give kudos to the ending purely because the payoff is worth the exceptionally long build-up.

Certainly not like anything I've played before.

Early Access Review
Very polished for a game out of early access, with excellent top-down style roguelike combat and a fun (if somewhat unoriginal) crafting and leveling system. The vampire fantasy of slaying holy paladins and woodlands monsters doesn't get old!

I really wanted to like this game. The ability to play a fairly close-to-vanilla D&D 5E campaign experience in a game setting is testament to how far we've come, and honestly this game gets a lot right, from the beautiful maps and locations and pretty impressive combat and spell systems. The game's dialogue is cheesy and straight laughable at times, and I'll never get how every cutscene is just the party standing in a line looking like a bunch of dweebs, but it's serviceable for a decently engaging campaign.

It's a buggy mess though. The latest update throws a Unity error which bricks multiple programs on my computer when I try to join my friend's lobby, and that's not to speak of the numerous dialogue errors, erroneous movement, general crashes, and broken interactions that have really tested my patience. This game was simply not ready for multiplayer and it shows, and while I hope the devs end up putting out a stable and complete product sometime in the future, for now I have to put this game to rest. The play quality I've experienced in just 30 hours has been unacceptable.

As it currently stands 343i needs to take some time balancing grenades and improving the leveling system in their first iteration of the battlepass. Weapons feel pretty good overall (even though it's a shame we're missing some), I like the revamped aesthetic, and the different equippable AIs are a highlight.

I purposefully kept myself in the dark about Fallen Order and didn't realize how Souls-like it was until I started playing it, but as a Star Wars fan I felt good to be in the universe using force powers and a lightsaber like the KOTOR days of yore. My only true complaint would be that some of the animations and cutscenes look amateurish and slow compared to combat, but the planets are gorgeous, it's well voice acted, and the world feels especially vast given all of the movement options and secrets hidden about. And even though the story was nothing special, I felt like there were plenty of moments and scenes that made me feel like it really nailed the vibe of Star Wars, and that's really all I could have asked for.

Phenomenal soundtrack, and the puzzles are innovative in their own right and not too challenging. Highly recommend collecting all mementos as the story becomes much clearer at the end with them collected.

This game is a ride. You are constantly reminded of the consequences of your actions as you play Max but it doesn't strike you, the player, until it's far too late. But the story is beautiful. The choices matter. The twists are excellent, and just when you feel comfortable, another one hits. I want to think that having 100%'d the game I've felt good about the choices I made but...I still don't know if I made the right call. That's good storytelling.

Ruiner is a top-down shoot-em-up that goes by quickly and doesn't attempt to be any more than it wants to be: you shoot enemies for 6 hours, and then you win the game. The cutscenes are polished, the graphics are gorgeous, and the little tidbits of cyberpunk life are an enjoyable breath of fresh air between killing sprees. It offers a fair degree of replayability with new game plus, an arena mode, and multiple build styles to help you kill enemies in different ways. Get it on sale.
