The freshest multiplayer gaming experience I've had in years. I'm having a blast playing this with friends and randos alike. Sure, we don't win most matches, but the game creates some great moments in between.

PVE challenges are diverse and engaging enough to add a little spice without distracting from the main attraction: ship fights. When you're looting there's always that tension of whether or not an enemy ship might get the drop on you. Looting the artifact does feel pretty challenging however. I haven't yet figured out how to loot it before another ship can swoop in and attack us. I see other teams doing it all the time though, so it's clearly a skill issue.

Ship fights are tense and chaotic affairs. Coordinating with your teammates to come out on top in a ship fight feels great. The more I play, the more I am appreciating the diversity of strategies that each ship layout offers.

Great progression of unlocks. I think the pace of unlocks is just right, and you can choose one of several different reward paths to prioritize specific unlockables. After 16.5 hours of playtime I only have one more gameplay unlock, and then everything else is cosmetics.

I've still got a lot to learn and explore, and that keeps me coming back for more.

Nightreign is the solution to the problem where you want to play a Dark Souls game a second time with a different build, but you don't want to spend hours researching a build, traversing the levels and killing minor enemies and bosses. A new build is just another 45-minute run away. I'm hooked!
