This game makes me very happy.

I spent ~3 hours on character creation, don't trust a review from anyone that wouldn't even play the story for that long.

Its a short puzzle game with a certain sense of humor. Was actually fun and all achievements took us about 2 hours. Haven't played the new games, but this one makes me want to buy the others so go ahead and give this one a test first.

The game has awarded me Rank 5 killer (20 being the worst) and at this point I can not even find survivors unless they go out of their way to troll me. Of course that means I'm bad, but why am I rank 5 if I'm bad? Most of this is focused on the killer side of the game because thats what I'm interested in, survivor felt unplayable from the start.
At this point survivors are burning map consumables just to glitch on top of rocks completely out of reach as well. The game stopped being fun around Rank 10 when everyone started using the same 3 perks for trolling. It got better between 8-6 and here I am at 5 giving the game a negative review.

Enough ranting about why I am now giving it a thumbs down after 65 hours.
FOR NEW PLAYERS looking to sink time into this game:
- You can not queue with a party of both Survivors and Killer and have matchmaking fill the empty spots. You have to play a custom game and be down survivor(s) or all play survivor together in a public game.
- The earnable in game currency for unlocking new characters is awarded for account level ups. As you level up the xp required to do so grows so it becomes harder to come by.
- Not all characters are unlockable for free (crossover characters must be payed for out of pocket).
- Each has to be leveled up separately to unlock perks & consumables so you're at a huge disadvantage until level ~30 where you have enough Tier 3 perks and the stronger consumables.
- Very little about actual mechanics are communicated in game so get ready to use the wiki for just about everything.
- As survivors get better, they fail skill tests less (never) which makes a good number of perks useless and greatly speeds up the escape progression when they always get Great results. This is based on reaction time so some people are naturally good while others cant succeed to literally save their life.
- The 3rd person survivor movement feels that it was made for a joystick. Oh here we go: It feels like Roblox without the shift lock.

The reviews might scare you away, but honestly try it for yourself.

Everyone knows the game is amazing from the PS4. Every review is focused on the games apparent poor performance. Tell you right now that its running exactly how I would expect from such an impressive title. 60-100fps High-Medium settings in the tutorial and first objective.
Stuttering is an occurrence, however I don't think its as atrocious as many make it out to be. Other games have the same problems. For example, NieR: Automata is a much bigger stutter offender but the reviews aren't bombed because of it.

PC:
Ryzen 2700x
RTX 2070 Super
16gb ddr4 3200mhz
Installed on a 1tb 7200rpm HDD (not an ssd)
144hz Freesync (Gsync compatible) Asus Monitor

Something that has been mentioned is to make sure your PCIE x16 graphics card isn't running at x8 speeds.

Someone pointed out that the optimization screen filled ram and could crash because of it. My experience was it filling all 16 gb of ram and then dumping ~700 mb at a time onto the hard drive until was finished (no crashes).
It took about 20 minutes without any crashes to actually get to a playable point in the game, plenty of time to experience the game play performance before you lose the ability to refund the game.

If you need a comparison to other games: (The middle of each range is a pretty good average)
Rainbow Six: Siege - High Settings 80-200 fps
Planetside 2 - High settings 20-200 fps (if you know the game, you know why that's such a wide range)
ARK Survival Evolved - Medium settings 40-120 fps
Monster Hunter: World - High Settings 40-120 fps
Warframe - High Settings 60-200 fps
GTA 5 - High Settings 40-100 fps
NieR: Automata - High 50-120 fps

This game is rough around the edges, mostly in the combat. I made a comment on Reddit about it an a bunch of people had input. Theres way more depth than I'm willing to go into here so I guess I'll do the lame Pros vs Cons thing.

PROS mainly about the atmosphere.
- Story is awesome. Builds who the characters are right up until the end.
- Wide assortment of cosmetic collectible that have you searching all around the maps. Paint jobs. Clothes. Lightsaber Hilts ect.
- The game play is not linear. The story has you going back and forth between planets just like collecting all the goodies does.
- Animations are amazing. Both 3rd person and facial animations are realistic and emotive.
- Stays true to the core of Star Wars. As in it doesn't vary wildly because it can.
- Force powers give you an advantage, even against bosses.* (If you get to use them)
- Lightsabers are cool :)

CONS dont expect perfect interactions with weapons involved.
- Multiple functions are bound to the same buttons. Requiring context for Climbing or Force Pulling if you're just a little off and falling to your death.
- 3rd person lighting is sometimes lacking.
- Exploration is not always straight forward. Requiring you to come back to succeed at something. This would be fine if you didn't have to find out by giving up the first time.
- EVERY enemy has unblockable attacks.
- Sekio style stance bar feels like a glorified shield to make melee combat take longer.
- *The flow of combat is way off. It often takes too long to use your upgraded Force abilities in combat. EX: mass slow takes very long to build up before it activates and gets canceled if you get hit.
- The line between Blocking and Parrying is inconsistent at best.
- Two levels of dodging. Tap once for Precision (side step) and double tap for Roll (dodge in the movement direction). Simply put; Feels clunky.
- Enemies can dodge your attacks with pixel perfect precision at any difficulty.
- Encounters are set up specifically to trick you over and over again and punish you for it.

There's definitely more nit picks, but I recommended this game so it must still be a good time.
