Very entertaining zombie horde shooter and it nails the immersive horror experience. It's like a darker Left for Dead.

I used to play space invaders on an arcade machine near my childhood football club and this game reminds me of those times. This is geeked out space invaders.

The story was lackluster & way too linear for a stealth game, the characters had no depth, the world felt empty. I remember the original games being much better. The only good thing about this game was it being on sale for $0.90.

The comic book art-style is really cool but the game doesn't take itself seriously at all and the 'funny' character lines get old fast the more you play. The story is weak and there's no skill ceiling or replay-ability. It's a mid tier open world single player game for people with no attention span. There's nothing special about it, it feels like a chore playing lol.

I want to cut this game some slack and start off by saying it's not actually bad, but I can't in good faith give it a positive review. The dev's not only decided to sell the story separately at double the price of the base game, but also made their fans wait over 4 years for an unfinished story that's less than 20 hours long without any clear communication. This game is definitely an acquired taste and in some ways can be entertaining to play (if you've got loads of free time), but I hate that it's marketed as a game for everyone because it most certainly isn't. I enjoyed playing for a while, but for a minimalistic walking simulator with unrealistic survival elements that forces it's players to spend hundreds of hours to achieve a playthrough that's actually worth-while, it's not something I would replay and therefore I don't recommend it. I think if the dev's were a little more honest and organized w their intentions then it would leave a better impression on welcoming fans.

This game is an absolute masterpiece, close to one of the best RPGs I've played. It reminds me of Future Soldier; if only it had a far more compelling narrative. My first playthrough was on the hardest difficulty. Ammo is sparse, you can't just mag-dump on enemies like in other games, and the need to keep moving is intense; otherwise your position is easily flanked or blown to shreds by it's pretty intelligent AI, especially for a 2012 game.

But it wasn't the gameplay that sold this game for me. This game shows you the disturbing horrors of war in such a brutally raw format through each chapter and every little detail- from its entire game design all the way down to the loading screens when you restart. Sometimes you're forced to kill your own, choose who gets to live or die, commit mass genocide, spread famine, and violate international laws with extreme war crimes. In short, it forces your hand into performing absolute atrocities in a war-torn city in complete utter chaos, which really sets the tone of the game. This game's not afraid of showing the ugly side of shooters: PTSD, torture, suicide. It's so dark, and it's executed flawlessly. For a game titled “Spec Ops: The Line,” I was really caught off guard by how much it exceeded my expectations, and now after completing it, I can see why the they chose it for the title, it makes perfect sense.

I also noticed the captain’s voice, and sure enough it's the same dude who voiced Nathan Drake from Uncharted, so that was pretty cool too. I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough. It's an absolutely wonderfully crafted game and a real shame it's been delisted.
