I'm in my 40s, Ex-Military, and currently doing my best to get through life. I've been playin' games forever and I don't really care about appearing good at them. I just like to have fun with my games. I'm too old now for petty video game drama and trying to be the best at them. I've never cared for it anyway.

I have a Sega Genesis, Gameboy Advance, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, a PC, a WII (I might've given that away by now actually), and a Switch. I had the xboxes before, but I sold them. No reason- it just happened that way. I also have a ton of video game console based novelties like the NES mini, SNES mini, Sega mini, C64 mini, Neo Geo mini (probably my favorite because while you can connect it to a TV it came with its own screen so you don't have to which is neat), Playstation mini, and that Nintendo Game & Watch Super Mario Bros. Edition (I also have the Zelda one). I also love getting those mini key chain size arcade machines- I got a bunch of those. I love those kinds of things. I have all the re-releases of the Tiger Electronics games (X-men, Transformers, Sonic, and The Little Mermaid). I am a sucker for that kind of stuff. I would have gotten the tiny single game gears but I have never found a way to get those personally. I did not get the TurboGrafix 16 mini because that came with games no one wants in Japanese which is stupid to me. I would still get it if I saw it at a pawn shop for $20, though. Yes, I am familiar with and can mod raspberry pi's. I am still a sucker for that other stuff. I love video games and video game based art!

I like most games and have a tendency to play old ones when there's nothing new I want to play (and not just 80s games, sometimes I feel like playing Ghosthunter on PS2 or the original release of Call Of Duty Black Ops). My list of games would probably explain that best. Some amount of my games have become obscure, but I love to collect games. At this point I'm not sure, but a large part of it could be the box art too.

You can see a defunct list of my games collection here. [darkadia.com] I have over 1000 (physical games as well as digital games). The thing is I have so many games I didn't like the way that site handled some things, and never fixed the problems anymore, so I paid for an app on my phone that I find easier to keep track of my games more accurately right now so I no longer use that website so that is only a partial list up to whenever I stopped using that site years ago.

I have over 2000 movies (almost 3000 at this point- yep), but due to the ever evolving internet I no longer have a list online. I use an app on my phone to keep track of them although I am aware of the website Letterboxd.

Check out my old Giant Bomb blog that I wrote in when I had something to say saved here until GiantBomb dies! [www.giantbomb.com] Sadly It may not last much longer the way corporations are killing everything lately.

Don't go to Gamespot, or any games media website it seems now, for accurate game NEWS and information. [www.gamespot.com] I have been saying for decades now that Gamespot is dead and no longer employs anyone who likes video games. All games news is dead unless run by fans and not political shills. And not the fans that are doing paid advertising in their content. They are corporate shills you morons.

I wrote too much: Anyway, thanks for wasting your time reading what I wrote! That was nice of you.

I have been finding a lot of interesting and clever games recently. It turns you can do a lot with very little if you have creativity to do so. I never really heard of this game before, but when it popped up in my discovery queue it looked interesting so I was very interested in checking it out.
This game reminds me at the offset of games like Hugo's House of Horrors, or F**kquest, but mixed with the original Prince of Persia. I really like that they invoke games of that era (EGA graphics and all) without having to totally be beholden to mechanics of that type. Furthermore they aren't completely constrained by this aesthetic either.
While the sound, for example, is beyond what they would have done at the time, it still invokes games of this type. There is an arcade like feel to the sound design (reminiscent of games like Berzerk, Stratovox, or the original Sinistar) that does a good job evoking the feeling games like those had, without completely requiring it's limitations (there's a lot more dialogue here then would be in one of those, for example).
Still, at times they impose upon you some limits because these add to the atmosphere that they are building in the mechanics that is fully backed up by the sound design- which is often minimal until it needs to build later on in very smart ways.
The game also, surprisingly, manages to be creepy, by utilizing the aesthetics limitations and building unique ways to flesh them out (such as the rotoscoped cut scenes similar to the original Prince of Persia and zoomed in art work like something they would have done in Monkey Island or whatever).
I do have some small complaints (constantly dieing on something difficult, for example, really breaks immersion) these complaints are no worse than any great game you have played before (many games have that problem) so I really don't think they take away from the experience altogether.
There was a lot of creative vision behind this game that really shows and it's a real delight when you stumble upon something new that is fresh and interesting like this is, and with so little, it comes highly recommended easier than even the most obvious big budget release that you'll spend 7 times as much on, but probably not have nearly as much fun.
