I love this game. Art style make be offensive to some and requires time to understand it and what you're seeing, but because of that simple art, you can focus instead on mechanics. Every turn, there is a check performed on every mob, every plant, animal, item, furniture, liquid, and everything in everyone's inventory. Impressive depth of mechanical interaction.

Two starting classes:
Truekin: These are unmutated Qud humans. Their pure geneology allows greater skill point gain and access to a suite of potent biomechanical implants. Harder to start since you won't have many skills or implants to start.

Mutant: Inhabitants of Qud who have become heavily mutated. Their biology mangled and changed beyond recognition, they gain powerful mutations to help them survive in Qud. There are two kinds of mutations: Physical, which rely on your biology to function, such as digging claws, fire breath, ice ray, enhanced muscles, phasing out of the material plane, and spinning webs, and there's mental mutations that don't show up physically, they rely on your incredibly evolved brain and scale with your Ego stat, such as making temporal clones of yourself, incinerating an area remotely, shooting concentrated beams of light, disintegrating an area around you, and seeing into the future (inbuilt save scumming).

Huge amount of content, delicious musical selection, good tinkering system for altering your items and building new ones, such as grenades, recoilers (teleports you back to marked area), anti-gravity boots, or freeze rays.

All content listed in review is for example and does not fully represent available content ingame.

Nostalgia doesn't play as big a part in this one as the other three games for me.

Similar to previous Fate games in art style, weapons, armour, spells in that it has the weapons, armour, and spells from those games, as well as new ones. It has some new spells for extremely high-level mages for once you get 150 or 200 magic.
Does not have realms from the first three games, instead you have new realms to explore- Well, more like one realm, but lots of dungeons, a new story, new monsters, old monsters, new music. If you enjoy any of the Fate games, you'll like this one.

Had the physical copy of this game when growing up. Yes, I am biased, but-

Pleasing gameplay: Start up, grab quests, head into dungeon, kill mobs, get loot, do quests, get rewards, level up, different builds, swords, axes, bows, specialized crit builds, attack, defense, or charm magic, get all three magics for weaker returns by splitting your points or go 100% pure charm magic and charm every monster you encounter while hiding behind your choice of summons.

This game doesn't have any extra bloat. It's just a good, solid experience. If it doesn't grab you in nearly two hours, I would say get a refund because it probably won't grab you by then. Its simplicity means it doesn't take much time to get into.

I'm not good at reviews, so I will say that I adore the Fate series, The first Fate was one of the only games I had growing up, and Traitor Soul has to be the best one. Below is information on accessing the first game's content.

You can access the town of Grove and basically have the three first games in one. Go to the installation folder and follow the path listed below.
FATE The Traitor Soul\REALMS\Grove\REALM\en-US\realms.dat
In that realms.dat file, you will see "<LOCKED>:1". Change the 1 to a 0.
You will see "<LEVEL>:0" below that. Change the 0 to a 1.

You can now access the entirety of the first game's content.

Pretty good. At some points items were hard to find. Some of the puzzles were like... I dunno how anyone would know to do the thing to solve them. Lore is visceral and gross, just the way I like it. Very good world-building and got me ready for STASIS. Very good as the free intro to this game series. Character development was nice, gets you to care about some of the characters. That's about it. I recommend having a spoiler-free guide on the side to glance at so you aren't perma stuck. Here's one such guide, my dudes. Gonna be a good time.

Very tightly-designed retro-style game without the frustrations of the era. Highly recommend it for split screen.

They're planning to add DRM so you'll buy their overpriced skins instead of getting better costumes from modding. Good game and FANTASTIC co-op game, but you definitely shouldn't buy it now. Per rule 0 I cannot suggest piracy.
