It's a rather simple, very cozy game. Who could have thought it would be nice to build dioramas in such a neat voxel (3D pixel) style? And now that the game has fully released, they've been adding DLC packs for us to enjoy even more diorama building!

My only point of criticism is the soundtrack. While it is nice, the tracks can become a bit repetitive if you're taking longer to build up your diorama (I especially noticed this in the Christmas build).

Aside from that, I think this is a very simple, relaxing experience that is brimming with detail with its easy-to-understand gameplay.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. What an interesting concept. I love a good whodunnit kind of game, so of course this piqued my curiosity.

Since the game isn't exactly very long (two hours apparently, depending on how "good" you are), there isn't a whole lot to say. Still, I'll go over some pros and cons.

Pros:
-I love the art style. Having the characters don role-specific outfits was a clever touch and helped sell the "murder mystery" vibe.
-I enjoyed the good humour. I like proper silly humour and this game has some of that.
-The story is written well enough, at least the murder mystery part. Threw me off, that's for sure.
-I find the music to be pretty good too. I don't know if they were all remixes of Sonic themes or if there was some original music, but I liked it ^^

Cons:
-I hate those infuriating linerunner segments. I get they wanted to make the game more Sonic-y (and longer), but I felt like it didn't fit in with the game at all. If one needs to play a silly minigame to validate their thinking, they should get out of the thinking game. Or stick to chess, logically.
-While I liked the murder mystery part of the story, the ending segments were.. less good. A bit tacked on for Sonic reasons.
-Talking to the passengers on the train is fun, but not really necessary, aside from the interrogation parts. It would have been more fun if just chatting with the Sonic crew was a bigger part of the game, in my opinion.
-WHERE WAS CREAM?! >: | I know she was mentioned once, but I feel like she should have been on the train too.. Maybe as Amy's assistant or something?

Would I recommend this game? Yeah! For a Free To Play April Fools prank this works perfectly fine! If you like a good whodunnit, enjoy spending time with the Sonic crew and like a game in the Sonic universe that is not Sonic-centered, pick this up and play it on a rainy afternoon. Or a sunny morning :P

To be honest, when I first learned of this game (way back when it was still in development) I was heavily sceptical. Not because I don't trust the team, DONTNOD Entertainment. They have already won me over with their Life is Strange universe. It weren't the visuals either. No, stupid as I was I feared the only thing this game would have going for it was "The main character is a transgender male".

And boy was I wrong. Now I do want to stress that I do not think there's anything wrong with the inclusion of a transgender character. It's good, because it's normal. However I do find that some IPs only include characters like that to say they're inclusive. And while Tyler being trans is a big part of the story, this is not a game solely about that.

I'm very happy I gave this game a try. It has a nice soundtrack to it (be sure to buy that as DLC!), the story is strong and I love the "power" that Tyler and his twin sister Alyson share. Being able to hear the other's thoughts, no matter the distance, that's just a good use of the twin-telepathy trope in my opinion. Plus I am a big fan of the concept of memories being explored in video games.

This game is not Life is Strange. It's not better than Life is Strange either. But if you loved Life is Strange, you will likely love Tell Me Why. The collectables in this game are better than those you find in Life is Strange 2 and the actually tie in to the story. And hey, this game tends to be free every year during Pride month, so you cannot go wrong there!

I had only one question after finishing the game. If this takes place in Alaska, during winter, why don't Alyson and Tyler zip their coats up? Aren't they cold? No gloves or mittens either!

This is a fun, charming little puzzle game with quite an interesting mechanic of not knowing what you're looking at until you've figured it out. Vague? Maybe! But that's the point :D

Pros:
The game plays very smoothly and your awareness level raises fast enough for you to figure out what all those strange, blank shapes are.
The pixel-art is a delight. Well made pixel-art games (that really use the style as an art form) are always a plus in my book.
Even though the game doesn't show it, your progress is saved and you can pick up at any point after a completed room.
Lack of music and present sound effects aren't distracting and (unlike other games I've played) don't give the game a creepy atmosphere.

Cons:
When your game is so short that you can't get all trading card drops in one playthrough, it might be a tad too short.
It would have been nice if the awareness mechanic itself was expanded upon more, with even more vague shapes taking form as you inspect them.
There was one puzzle that was so cryptic that I got stuck and had to look up the answer. A simple two-letter hint would have made all the difference.

Neutral:
Too bad the song used for the title screen is not available in the game's folder, which sometimes is the case for smaller games.

Final Thoughts:
Personally I would recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a fun, short game to kill an hour or two of their time. However I would also recommend them to wait for the game to be on sale. I got it for €0,99 and that is a more reasonable price than the regular €4,99, in my opinion.

The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game is a charming little title. There really isn't much to it and you can finish it (100%) in under an hour, so you might want to pick this game up when it's on sale.

The music is nice and jazzy, although for most of the game you'll be listening to the same tune. It's not bad though, so not really a hindrance.

For some reason the developers thought this game would work best as a 1st person walking simulator, but I think point and click would have been just fine. Controls work as they should.

The dialogue is charming and it's clear that the devs were aiming to be funny. I was amused *nods*

The tags to this game claim it's story rich.. I wouldn't say that. A short game, finished in under an hour, has little chance of being rich in story. There is a story and plenty of characters, so it has at least that. Be prepared to stared and smiled at for the entire game though!

All in all I would say that Frog Detective is not a great game, but it is entertaining if you have an hour to kill! Definitely not bad.

This game was given to me by a person I've met on Steam. All I paid was the time it took me to help them out ^^

My thoughts:
This game.. or.. non-game is just.. I think it's great. There aren't enough words to properly describe exactly what this game is, how it plays and just how great it is, to me anyway. If you enjoy pixel-art (and you should~!) and classic point-and-click adventures, mixed with a good dose of humour, a lovely narrator and one silly occurance after the other, this game is for you, definitely. And also if you're not a fan of any of those, I still think you should give this game a try. Or the free to play GameJam 2015 version. That's basically this game's tutorial, in a way. A sneak-peak of what you're in for, playing this game, Wrong Dimension.

Let's get into a bit more detail with some pro's and cons~!
PROS:
-Witty commentary that will make you want to do nothing for just a little while longer, just so you can hear what else Mr. Game has to say.
-If you're stuck, there is a help button... but you could also just click around until you find the solution. That usually works too~!
-Clever puzzles that require out of the box thinking.
-A wonderful pixelated artstyle that really fits all dimensions you visit.
-Each dimension is different from the last (the game hates repetition in comedy after all).
-Great soundtrack that will make you want to buy the DLC, if only for *one song in particular*.

CONS:
-The game can get a bit "hand-holdy" at times, while you think on how to solve something. Mr. Game might already give a hint without you wanting to hear one.
-You can't skip the cutscenes. Now of course you would not want to, unless you play the game a second time just for the achievements you happened to miss. In that case the cutscenes are a bit of a hindrance.

NEUTRAL:
-It's a stand alone game. It wouldn't work to make a sequal for it, so if you like this game... you'll just have to play this again and again.
-While the soundtrack is good, I'll never be able to listen to Tchaikovsky's Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy the same way ever again.

All in all I can really only recommend this game. The cons are too minor for me to be able to outweigh the pros. So if you like wry humour, witty puzzles, wonky characters and wholesome gameplay, give this game a try!

Disclaimer: While I did not buy this game at the Steam Store, I did pay for it through Kickstarter.

I've been following this game since its Kickstarter campaign of 2016. While development was slow and there were numerous struggles, the developers never failed to keep us updated and in the end they came through with this neat, little, handpainted gem. I seriously regret not pledging 15 pounds, which would have gotten me the soundtrack too. Oh well ^ w^

This game is short, slow-paced and overall not too challenging, which makes it a great play for a rainy Sunday afternoon (or any day / weather condition when you feel like spending about 4 hours on a game). The music is nice and relaxing, the visuals are absolutely stunning and there's not a lot going on.

Or is there?

On the surface this may seem like a simple puzzle game, going from room to room, solving puzzles to progress, but it's far more than that. This game manages to convey a story without a single spoken word, which means that you can enjoy this game no matter where you're from! All story elements are conveyed through cutscenes and scenery, all painted by hand and it shows.

Let's move on to pros and cons:
+Very pretty artstyle that is very easy on the eyes (not too dark, and certainly not too bright).
+"Simple" puzzles where the solution is a journey of its own.
+A nice and relaxing soundtrack.
+A super adorable fluffy sidekick, with the power to merge with the shadows!
+You can replay a room as many times as you like. Just return to the main menu and click the Book icon.
+Not heavy on my (old, non-gaming) PC's processor!
+24 Achievements which are easy to get (I only looked up four of them, one of which I could have figured out on my own)

-The game is a little short. I would not have minded if the game was longer.
-While the shadow-merging mechanic was fun, I think I would have liked it if it was used more.
-The characters move slowly, which fits the pace of the game nicely, but in some areas it would have been nice to have a run option.
-In some puzzles the solution is a little repetitive.

~Minor nitpick: Due to the game not having any dialogue or readable written words, I cannot for the life of me remember the names of the characters. It doesn't really help they're not the easiest to remember. Couldn't help but stick to Finn for the boy... That is really more a shame-on-me than a shame-on-the-devs.

Overall I can really recommend this game. The cons are definitely not severe enough to not enjoy the game anymore. It doesn't even really bother me ^^

Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful to you!

Early Access Review
Can the people at Artix Entertainment even make a bad game? While I must admit I prefer AdventureQuest Classic over any of their others, AQ3D was a welcome leap into the third dimention.
My PC is not the best suited for playing this game (especially when there are a lot of players in the same area), so you too might experience some lag, but it's well worth it.
The music is great, the visuals are endearing in their simplicity, there are TONS of ways to customise your character and you're met time and again with Artix Entertainment's quality facepalm-humour.

If you are a fan of any of their previous online games, especially AQClassic and AQWorlds, you really ought to give this game a try. With new updates rolling out very often there's tons to do in very little time. So, what are you waiting for? Battle on!

Machina of the Planet Tree - Planet Ruler, a game with such a confusing name, it must be worth your time, right? It's a classic RPG, made with the RPG Maker Engine. The concept is fairly easy, with an interesting battle mechanic allowing you to chain your attacks for maximum damage. Just don't forget to hit L-ALT + ENTER for a full-screen game experience, or use F1 to alter settings. Other people have complained about those things, but those complaints are wrong~!

Let's get to some pro's, neutrals and cons:
Pro:
+Wonderful pixel-design on the main characters and main enemies.
+Interesting battle techniques that can really rack up some damage~!
+Plenty of things to loot, as long as you remember that healing items are called Attributes, as well as materials for
+Weapon crafting. You can craft broken weapons into working ones, or upgrade the ones you have, provided you have the right Attributes.
+Decent play-time. In 10-15 hours you could finish it entirely, unless you want to grind for some hard-to-get Attributes.
+Great music from the moment you start playing.
+Lovely drawn character portraits. Barely any stock RPG Maker portraits.
Cons:
-Insane spikes in difficulty on bosses. You'll find you can breeze through a dungeon and then get stuck on a boss that keeps healing insane amounts of HP.
-Enemies, especially bosses, sometimes randomly attack multiple times in a row, killing all party members before you can even do anything to recover.
-Great pixelart doesn't really match the standard RPG Maker background tiles.
-Chest envy. Why do so many RPGs think it's necessary to give at least one character chest envy?!
-At times there is lots of text while little is explained.
-Some items are real hard to obtain (so I didn't bother getting everything). Lots of loot is based on randomness.
-Terminology could have been better (I thought a higher Cost was a bad thing..)
Neutral:
~Characters talk Japanese during battle. Great if you understand the language, confusing if you don't. They also repeat themselves a lot. I didn't find either of those to be real annoying, but some people do, so...
~There's a young girl VERY interested in the protagonist... Some people are into that sort of thing, so I just thought I'd mention that, as there are also those that aren't.
~Regular enemies are stock RPG Maker monsters. Not bad per se, just a bit sharp in contrast to the bosses they did put some extra effort in.
~Not a whole lot of story going on, but enough to be entertaining.

Final thoughts: I can recommend this game, because I had a fun time with it. It's not too challenging overall, except for some boss fights. Don't forget to use the skills you have, even if they don't seem to do much. They can really help in a pinch. All in all it's a good game with great music, fun battles and attacks and lovely bits of pixel art. Don't let the nay-sayers get you down, this game is not as terrible as some thing.

REMEMBER:
L-ALT + Enter : Fullscreen
F1: Option Menu

So incredibly easy and relaxing. If you love pixel-art, like myself, or are a fan of painting by numbers, this game is great for you. You can easily invest hours and hours of gametime on the free to play books alone, let alone all the reasonably priced DLC books~!

Granted, not all images are as fun to work on as others. SPOILER: That one that's the moon and that low-res world map are both not really good. However, overall this game is pretty fun with some rather creative puzzles.

Two tips:
1. Turn off the music and put on anything you enjoy listening too. The provided music gets on your nerves after a while :3
2. Turn off the feature that shows the picture before you complete it. I think it's more fun that way, if you don't know beforehand what you are going to make.

Oh and if you start playing this game, know you might even encounter ""art"" made by yours truly, under the name Apophis324~!
