Am I getting old/experienced or has product involved too much in software?
Background: 8 yoe in multiple companies in Europe.

Now, first of all, I should say, at the end of the day, we work for a product, and I am not looking down on any product people here. I highly respect their work and I have good relationships with all of them, or at least, with the reasonable ones. I just had a number of bad examples.

Changing team names. In many occasions, one of the first things PMs did was to change our team name. I think I am getting a bit older for this s*it and honestly think that's a very lame way of trying to have an impact on a team. We used to be called "Authentication team", a name that perfectly resembles what we do. PMs think it's not fun and unique. Now we have an anime character name and for some reason, it really bothers me. I feel like this is a kindergarten level management. Also, none of my teammates watch anime.

Hey code-monkey we need to talk. No, not about your months old pull requests. I don't care about that. I'm here to tell you that the features you've been working on for the past 9 months are no longer necessary for the project so you can stop working on it. We're going to have to talk about your productivity. Maybe if you had finished it by the deadline we would have implemented it.
