Please read don't blindly listen to all the poor performance reviews.
My experience with performance has been good, and the exact opposite most of the negative performance reviews.

I come to you playing on a 3 year old Laptop with a
Specs
  • ***** Laptop 4090 GPU which is equivalent to a 3070 an no OC*******
  • 13980HX no OC
  • 64 gigs of Ram no OC

*I will update this review honestly should I have issues as my playtime progresses, and to add in comments specific to gameplay etc as I spend more time with the game.

    Settings
    • Very High Settings with some settings including terrain detail, texture quality, render distance turned to Max.
    • FRAMEGEN OFF
    • ZERO studdering so far
    • ZERO Crashes
    • ZERO Crashes.
    • 55-80 FPS, running

No lag, no studder, no crashes, runs smooth as I could ask for on Very High settings.

    Verticle Gameplay is AWESOME
It adds a great new element to get around and makes for some crazy fun kills! Grapple up jump, Gun down headshots WHILE falling, end with meele slam. Very satisfying.

    Some downsides
    1. Can't dial in mouse sensitivity the way I would like. Mouse - Razer Basilisk Ultimate w Synapse. Game makes mouse over sensitive and a little wonky.
    2. For some reason even after playing with audio adjustments lack of base and backgroudn noise is dead on speakers. Switching to Logitech G733 headset and the game sounds 100 times better. Most games sound satisfying and basey on my speakers, but could not dial in on speakers even with tuner adjustments. I hate headsets so this one kinda bummed me out.

TLDR: I am not good at games, but this game got old and boring very fast. Not worth $20, not even worth $15. boring game-play loop and limited content make it worth about $5.

It was fun for about 4 hours. The game play loop gets old very quickly and there isn't any real reason to play after that. Would get 1 shot by NPC's sitting near the extraction point a lot on normal difficulty. Not skilled gamer, especially not games like this, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Games worth about $5. I have played $2.99 games with more content. I rarely say this, but Money wasted. There just is not really anything here.

It's okay. Very short to beat. While exploring the entire map and doing every quest, it took me 3.4 hours to beat the game on medium difficulty. I suppose Hard would be no longer. I got it for %50 off, so 3.4 hours for $3.49 isn't to bad. There are other cheap games out there that are much much longer, and just as, if not more, fun.

There is great bones to be expanded upon to make this into a much longer much better game. I hope the dev takes the approach that Stardew Valley or others have where they add significant content after the fact.

With out more content this is a maybe. Buy it on sale.

There is zero replay value FYI.

This game is just the bee's knees. I can not put my finger on exactly what makes this game so wonderful, it may be the throwback to Half-Life vibes it gives me so much, and taking it from the scientist and not hero point of view is wonderful. I get really nostalgic for the time I spent in my formative years playing doom, and i don't know but this kinda brings me back to being a kid again. It is goofy, it is nerdy, and its a lot of fun alone or with pals.

Don't listen to the negative reviews, they are by the same type of people who think the world is flat, and that Bethesda can squeeze blood out of a stone.

even without mods the depth of the systems and mechanics in this game are amazing, after 1,400 hours I still am learning new things that can be done in the game. Yes it does take a little bit to get used to the methods needed to survive, and yes in single player you will probably die a bunch when you first start if you use normal difficulty, but once you get the hang of it the game is endlessly rewarding.

When I bought this game, I did not realize that characters are bound to a server. The server I was on died, and now I am all alone. All the time sank into the castle is worthless and loss. This game would be a very positive for, except for the fact that if a server dies, you lose that character and all progression. Every-time a server pop dies, I don't feel like sinking a ton of hours to rebuild a character. The studio need to get their act together and allow cross server transfers. I know, I know what you will say......"blah blah territory" but that answer is simple, refund the player all materials spent on building their base, and everything in storage, put that in a special container that has no weight, but does not allow anything to be put into it. This way you can move from a dead server, keep your progression and rebuild your castle in a different spot should you switch servers., I am not a big fan of Fallout 76, but they did one thing right, and that is how they handled player build bases and the conflict when your base was in the same location as another base on a new server you tried to join. It is pretty simple tech.....tie all object entities to the blood fountain, on server change, server checks if all tiles of your original castle are occupied, if not server puts the castle back in place at new server. If space is occupied, your castle is packed up into a little package for you to deploy when you find a new spot. The current situation is shocking in this age, to isolate a character to a single server. I have seen official servers from hosts like g.portal just get shut down, and you lose all your time and progress.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this game, i was looking more for an RTS, but this scratched a hidden itch I didn't know I had. First time playing, I sat for 11 hours without realizing. Am now late to bed and will sleep through all my meetings tomorrow
