I've been a massive Indiana Jones fan since I was 10. I even like Crystal Skull. I also love Dial of Destiny, which I think is a wonderful counter-point to Mangold's Logan that gives Indy a fantastic send-off.

This game doesn't really choose to go its own way, and instead is a technical and storytelling marvel that trades blows with the original three movies and acts as a great connective tissue between them. You meet a fantastic barrage of new characters played by excellent actors such as Enrico Colantoni, Tony Todd, and Alessandra Mastronardi. In other words, this is basically just a playable Indiana Jones movie with all the globetrotting wonder and time capsule storytelling it entails.

If not for the phenomenal Batman: Arkham Shadow, this would have been my GOTY 2024, but since this seemingly does not get counted for 2024, I'll call it my GOTY 2025.

Btw, I had an RX 6600 when I got this and it did not work. I sucked it up and got an Ultimate tier GeForce Now subscription to play this and I didn't regret it. This game is actually improved drastically by being able to turn up that path tracing, because it just immerses you even more into the world.

Phenomenal game. EVERYONE needs to play this. Cried a few times and the ending left me a blubbering mess.

A gripping and thrilling dive into loss, guilt, and abandonment. That's all you need to know. Please play this.

I played the demo back in 2020 and instantly put it at the top of my wishlist. And it delivered

Battlefront III needs to happen. I want to play as Kay Vess and Fight The Empire on Ferrix with Grogu and Chopper. This game is great and deserves to be elaborated on with all the fun new stuff in the Canon

Probably my favourite card game of all time. Very simple to get into, animations and combos are very fun. And the collectable aspect is really nice. No booster packs or anything like that. Getting new variants is so exciting.

...but that said, card acquisition is really bad. It needs a complete overhaul.

Still a positive review, but I may well change it if card acquisition doesn't improve soon.

EDIT (21/05/2025): Hey, they fixed it!

EDIT (18/06/2025): People are overreacting hard. The game is still very much playable. The only thing that's changed is that people are waking up to High Voltage being a pretty bad game mode. Deadpool's Diner has always been better.

This game is incredible. I get lost in its world and want to keep exploring. I stumble upon new areas and missions all the time and the quest log and map are so great. I never feel like I have nothing to do.

Hunting, scavenging, and crafting are super satisfying, and usually I hate crafting and scavenging in games. This game pulls it off with its heavy and intriguing lore.

Every single character I meet feels like a real person. Not only visually, but in the acting and writing. These people have dreams of a better future in the ruins of our society. I never get the sense that any character simply popped into existence the moment they show up.

Combat is so satisfying. It is always simple the figure out what the pain points and weaknesses are to hit. But it's never easy to simply hit them. You have to be on the ball to take down big enemies, but even when you just want to relax, you can hunt smaller prey to upgrade your equipment and stock up for the big battles.

I forgive the weird and game-breaking LoD texture issues on resolutions above 1080p just because of how amazing this game is, and how good I hear the port is.

Guerrilla are a pack of geniuses, and I sincerely hope they keep getting the funding to make incredible games like this.

Unfortunately, Sony seems intent on making the future of PlayStation uncertain in "unsupported" regions. After delisting HELLDIVERS 2 from 177 countries and territories worldwide, the seal is now broken for them cracking down on having a PSN account in those countries, essentially threatening to turn my PS5 into a large oddly-shaped brick.

I'm glad these games are coming out DRM-free for PC. But there is now a precedent for them to be delisted and the option to buy them completely taken away (and I already bought Horizon Forbidden West for PS5 because of how much I love Zero Dawn). For that reason, I cannot recommend you get this game.

EDIT NOVEMBER 2024: And now there is a beautiful remaster of this game that fixes all the issues. But I and people from 177 other countries and overseas territories cannot get it. In fact, this game is not purchasable in my country at all anymore. This is a genuine travesty.

EDIT JUNE 2025: FINALLY, I can switch my review back to positive. The game is finally available like it used to be, and the remaster along with it.

UPDATE: The performance issues have mostly been fixed. Highly recommend this game now. If you tried it before and it was bad, please give it a shot.

Original review:

Got this on launch because I loved the first season of the TV show and hey I have cancer I have limited games left to play at this point.

I've been running the game quite well with both my configs once I compile shaders, keep expectations in check, run with settings adjusted from medium, and use upscaling:

* Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 6600, 32GB
* Ryzen 7 5800HS, RTX 3060 Laptop (60+20W), 16GB

The game is visually gorgeous even at low settings. The story is incredible. The acting is amazing. The animations are more lifelike than most AAA games that get built from the ground up today (COUGH ELDEN RING COUGH). The gameplay is excellent. Every detail in this game is lovingly crafted and re-done for the current generation. It has possibly the greatest settings menu I've seen in any PC game maybe except for Warzone/Warzone 2. The accessibility options are god-tier, and will allow pretty much anyone who wants to experience this game to play it. I have encountered ZERO shader stutter, a rarity nowadays.

This is an incredible way to experience The Last of Us.

Don't get it. It's not ready yet. They did not allocate enough time or budget for QA. "Mostly Negative" is not a review bomb, it is a legitimate indictment of how this game is optimised and programmed., no matter how many people like me can run it well.

The bugs are fixable, the performance can be optimised. But I would not recommend getting it in this state.

And stop scapegoating Iron Galaxy. This is on Naughty Dog as the primary developer and Sony as the publisher.

Like with previous reviews of mine, (namely Boneworks) I will update my review once patches have gone into place to improve the state of this game.

Sony, you've got our money. Excellent port of an excellent game.

Was absolutely sucked in from the moment I began.

Early Access Review
UPDATE: The game has remained in a solid state with great support from the devs. Changing my review to positive, but going to keep the original text.

Original review:

I love VRChat. I have never used a mod in VRChat, and likely never would have. I also love Easy Anticheat. It works.

There is absolutely no need for EAC to be added to the game especially not at the cost of the game's mod support. It is a social VR game. There is no competitive play. There are other ways to ensure your users are not maliciously attacking others' computers/headsets. They just went the lazy way out and screwed a bunch of their community who just want to have safe fun, especially disabled gamers who need the mods to even enter.

VRChat needs to reverse this horrible decision. Find another way.

I hate to throw cold water on everyone's fun, but I just never understood the hype with this one. There just isn't much gameplay here. And don't get me wrong, that is a valid compromise to make when crafting an intriguing plot and doing world-building, but frankly the entire thing felt like an anti-climax. It built up as if it were not a slice of life, like if it was actually leading to something, but something about it just failed to impress me. I didn't like the main character and it never felt like she really grew much over the course of the story.

As charming as the characters are, it never quite made up for how dull the plot was, and how lacking the gameplay was. I admit I had high expectations for this one, due to friends' recommendations.
