Early Access Review
I love the gameplay loop (Build plane, complete a cargo mission, upgrade plane, repeat), but I yearn for more content.

-There are only 3 areas, and the game can be finished in a couple of hours
-There is only one type of mission. Take something from point A to point B
-I feel the plane building should be a bit less forgiving than it is. I love making abominations of planes, but every plane feels like it flies the same.

Great game, just needs more to it to be a really great game

I recently got this game through the current humble bundle. Don't get me wrong, I personally really enjoy this game and have fun with it and plan to continue playing it, but I don't think this is a very good game and I can't say I recommend it. I'm just easy to please.

+ Addicting little roguelike loop
+ I like the amount of characters there are to play, and I love that they call the alternate colors shinies
+ Some of the items and guns are super fun to use
+ I love the idea of the game

- I don't really like the humor. It's just outdated memes.
- The game also doesn't really look that great. The sprites all seem to mismatch each other and the music is very unfitting
- The meta progression seems far too grindy. I also don't like that unlocking characters is random chance, make us achieve something to unlock a character. But in the end, the characters are all almost identical so it doesn't matter that much
- The optional difficulty modifiers are cool, but the fact they don't do anything to really help speed up the meta progression feels really ♥♥♥♥♥♥
- It takes elements of Gungeon and Nuclear Throne and waters them down - if you're going to be making a game similar to them, you need to do more to differentiate yourself from them gameplay-wise.
- There's a ton of weapons between the weapon classes, but most of them feel so samey. Some weapons are pretty cool and unique like Lute and Toy Gun, but there's so much bloated slop that finding the good weapons is a rarity
- Much like the weapons, the items are in a similar position. Some cool items, but they're heavily outweighed by generic or uninspired bloat
- The enemies are all super similar, alongside plenty being just unfair like the penguins or any of the flying melee enemies
- I've encountered a good few bugs in this game so far. You just can't shoot from the bottom of the screen for some reason, and that's something that I feel wouldn't have been hard to spot from just testing your own game

All in all, I don't really recommend this game and I probably wouldn't have bought it had it not been included in the bundle. It's a nice little bonus and I have enjoyed it so far, but I would wait for a pretty good sale ($5 or less) or get it in something like a bundle

Let me start off by saying the things that I don't like about the game...

-The story is okay, the ending was anti-climactic and ended it on a bit of a sour note for me

-The abilities all feel lackluster except for the cowl. Grappling hook had potential to be super fun but just felt like ♥♥♥♥ to use.

-Endless needs to be reworked pretty heavily imo. As of now, it's not very fun without mods from the workshop. I get the devs are the ultimate deciders of balance, but in a roguelite I want to be able to get really strong (in this case, fast as ♥♥♥♥) and the fact you barely get any items isn't very fun. Maybe add shops and ranks after stages like in the regular fragments and it would be so much more fun.

-A lot of the items feel very samey, but i understand there's not a whole lot you can do in a game like this - this is a very minor complaint

With the bad out of the way, let me just say most of that doesn't matter because the game is fun as ♥♥♥♥ to play. The gameplay is so smooth and it scratches my sonic-like go fast itch so incredibly well. It's almost a perfect game, but there's just a few little gripes I have that make it feel like it's not at it's fullest potential.

Pizza Tower is the exact definition of a modern classic. This is one of the single best 2d platformers I have ever played. (edit: original review was at 10 hours, and I deleted something and replaced it with what's coming next after 95 hours)

An opinion of mine that has changed as I went from first playthrough, to 101% playthrough, to learning the speedrun, is that this game is not as much like the Warioland series as you may be hoping. The gameplay isn't puzzle-esque, and instead focuses more on the tight, satisfying, speed-based controls of Peppino. This game plays much more like a classic sonic game, fused with a good bit of Warioland 4's elements. Of course, this game will still scratch that Warioland itch. If you're a diehard Wario fan, you should keep an eye on Anton Blast, another good Wario-like that's coming out in the future.
(edit done!)

I have been following the game since the SAGE 2019 Demo, but have avoided seeing too much gameplay to make sure that when it comes out, I get to experience it on my own. Lord was that worth it. The sprites, animations, characters, level design, gameplay, controls... it's all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect. This game's presentation is just oozing with love and passion from the devs, and it deserves every single bit of praise it can get.

Recommended, but just barely.

The DLC is fun, and I would rather play the game with it rather than without it, but I just feel like there's not enough content for the 15 dollar price tag.

The new "alternate ending" is just a new boss with no new ending cutscene. It just fades into black, and then the run summary pops up. you don't even know why you're in the new area with the new boss.

Wait for a sale, then it'll be worth it. Hopefully DLC 2 will have a bit more to it
