my biggest criticism of the game is that the story was semi predictable. And by that i mean that it doesn't throw too many crazy loops into the story that catch you off guard. That being said the storytelling itself is fantastic. Every character has their own distinct personality, and you feel emotionally invested in every moment to moment activity and event that is going on in the story. The breadth of scope they have for the characters is fantastic and almost every single one of them goes through some kind of personal arc that shapes who they are as an individual. A truly fantastic game that I will replay multiple times in the future just to FEEL again. The voice acting is some of the best I have ever seen and the emotions that people are able to inflict over superb animation and truly great voice directing is something that I don't think should be understated. This game has I think rightfully earned it's place in my top 10 most personally powerful games of all time. Props to the team; I hope they continue this universe, and if they decide to move into another direction I wish them the best of luck on all future artistic creations that they produce, This game saw the standard and exceeded it. 10/10

I can probably count on one hand the amount of games that have managed to get me so genuinley invested in the world and story, and even less that manage to evoke some tears from me. This is one of those games and its a game i will be playing long into the future. If you ever want to know what true art looks like in the video game medium this might be the prime example. Gameplay is incredibly fun but even that aside you would be doing your eyes, ears, and heart a disservice by not playing this game.

I didn't run across any bugs in my playthrough and only had some minor performance issues in the first like 30 minutes of the game. This doesnt detract from my score as in all likelyhood its UE5's fault. While i detest the engine i wont fault the devs for using it as it accomplishes what they were going for very well.

10/10 Will play again and again.

The combat could use some improvements but overall the feel of the game is fantastic. You get seriously attached to the men you are leading and it effects how you use and interact with them. If one goes down in combat you have to seriously weigh whether or not they are in a position to be helped, or whether the current situation of the battle has to take higher priority. With some decent strategy you can get through most of the battles only slightly affected, but sometimes the dice rolls bad and your guys just get hammered. its up to you to figure out whether to risk more lives or to get out with what you have. not many games allow that kind of decision making, much less have it feel impactful.

Good game that I can sink countless hours into.

solid game, finally worth saying would rather play this than project reality

I could wipe my ass with how horrible the optimization on this game is.
I used to be able to play this game just fine at a solid 60 fps, but recently its been absolutely garbage. I can barely run this game at low settings, I turn the camera BOOM lag spike, I shoot a weapon BOOM lag spike, Someone starts firing at me BOOM lag spike along with the fact that when you lag spike in this game you stop moving making it so easy to be shot down. I could not recommend this game for the life of me with the state it is in right now. Now ill be honest, my computer isn't the greatest, but that's not an excuse for the fact that I could run this game just fine before and now its absolutely terrible. The mechanics of this game are great, but what does it matter if I can't even play it. People in the rust community have been asking for optimization for ages now and the developers are not listening. don't by this game if your computer is not that great, or actually don't by it at all because you'll probably lag anyways.

TL:DR: Games optimization is absolute garbage, don't buy

trash DLC policy, as per all paradox games, but it's a ton of fun to play if you can get over the fact youre missing 80% of the game when you buy it.

10/10 needs more replayability

This has got to be one of the most fun games that I have played in a while. I received it as a gift from a friend and ahve had nothing but laughs and good times since i started playing.

I currently plan on dumping many hours into this game and I can see its development going far. Obviously there are flaws like the pretty onconsistant melee system but I have to say that the shooting is very satsifying; especially when your friend gets outflanked and headshotted by an officer from 3 meters away, while the officer says "Sup ♥♥♥♥♥". Some of the best laughs that i've had in ages have come from this game and its voip system. Highly reccomend to anyone who's put even a fraction of time into games with a historical setting and reccomend even more to fans of napoleonic wars.
