Routine is a triumph in every conceivable way. The fact that this game even exists to begin with is a miracle, given that many of us have patiently waited for over a decade, unsure if it would ever see the light of day.

Fortunately, the wait has paid off. That development time clearly hasn't gone to waste because every single facet of Routine feels polished to a mirror sheen with a tight, focused, and horrifically imaginative lo-fi space station that feels lived in and practically begs players to explore each of its dingy nooks and crannies. Routine exhibits a confidence in worldbuilding that puts it in league with the best of the genre.

The definitive way to play a horror classic. What Nightdive has done with System Shock 2’s Remaster has not reinvented Looking Glass’ 1999 masterpiece, but instead polished it to a mirror sheen — implementing quality of life improvements and a new coat of paint which remains faithful to the original’s art style.

An easy recommend for anyone who has done their tour of duty aboard of the Von Braun before or are setting out for their very first time. The Many sing the praises of this release.

Assail ever-increasingly hazardous biomes with up to three friends in a co-op climbing adventure filled with thrills, chills, and enough on-the-fly improvisation to impress Bear Grylls. Watch in horror as they plummet into chasms below, mere inches from your grip, knowing full well that if you were just a little bit faster they would still be alive and it’s all your fault.

Step aside Cliffhanger. This is a Cliffbanger. A steal for $5 and hours of entertainment.

A stunningly beautiful, stop-motion journey of loss and forgiveness set against a Southern Gothic tapestry, South of Midnight excels at being an emotive and musically compelling experience, but sadly one whose gameplay just narrowly misses the mark to help it stand among its peers in the character action genre. I am very excited to see Compulsion Games use the slight missteps of SoM's rote and by-the-numbers combat system as a learning experience to make the next entry in the series a bonafide masterpiece.
