This game is a blatant cash grab.

The developers are shamelessly exploiting the brand name with minimal effort. Prophecy Games, owned by the same company as Hi-Rez, is solely focused on profit, evident from the exorbitant DLC prices. Save your money and avoid this scam.

Furthermore, the developers are actively suppressing negative feedback by banning users from Discord for expressing anything less than glowing praise. They've even disabled reactions to prevent users from supporting negative reviews before being banned.

To add insult to injury, the CEO of Prophecy Games, Erez, recently expressed doubt about the game's potential for success before promptly exiting Discord. This lack of commitment speaks volumes about the company's integrity.

In summary, this game is nothing more than a cheap attempt to capitalize on nostalgia and trick unsuspecting consumers. Don't fall for their deceitful tactics. It's nothing but ShazBait.

Mind you the DLC doesnt GIVE you the items, it gives you a chance to get the items. What a jok, sham of a game company.

Erez needs to leave the gaming industry. He's making Electronic Arts look good.
When half of the "good reviews" are telling you to ignore the bad ones. Just remember they were in Discord asking people to leave positive reviews in effot to combat the negative ones.

Been on steam for... a long time. My first review.

I was one of the biggest hype people for New World, even after seeing Amazon Game Studios wreck every other release, I had huge hope for New World. They answered it very well, at first.

Starting in the game, its very optimized and runs smooth and clean, looks great, and many systems in the game see to run flawlessly and have great design and dynamic to them. I was in a pre-release guild looking to do world firsts, server firsts, and do a massive amount of PVP. The game had such a nice feel to it when starting out. I remember telling many friends "I want a game to suck me in like WOW did at first, where I cant wait to play it, and Im almost addicted." New world did that to me at first.... at first.

Unfortunatley, when you start to look at creative choices made by the team, alongside of practically little to no endgame. After a certain point the game falls VERY flat. Looks and Smoothness don't cover for bad gameplay towards the end. Everything you fight is basically a zombie of some form or fashion, a cheaply thought out mechanic. (They call them corrupted) and the game falls entirely flat once you hit max level. Simply put, there is nothing to do. You can do some world PVP, but its very much like Planetside, where it just cycles, each faction does loops around the continent and doesnt REALLY fight one another. It falls apart. continuing on this, there is alot of "oomph" missing. I cant quite explain it, the game just FEELS hollow.

All in all, there is a patch coming, or that came today that is supposed to fix some of these issues. I am hoping it does because this is what... AGS' 7th release that had blown up in terrible fashion? AGS, if this doesnt fix the game, if it doesnt teach your team to be a little more creative, to follow through and build the game in a manner that holds players, isnt the same as everything else, has diversity in gameplay, and you're not just fighitng... zombies... Im saying this as someone who was incredibly hyped for the game... You need to close doors. Obviously games are not your forte, be it new world... crucible... whatever others there are, theyve all failed. Stick to cloud services and logistics. You are king there. You are barely a peasant in the gaming world. :/

Guys, Don't buy the game. Player counts are ridiculously low. Some servers are as low as 16 people. See the pops here.
