I grew a giant golden pumpkin and I can't seem to get rid of it 10/10 game.

This game is amazing and has been at the bottom of my screen whenever working or doom scrolling.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a great game being completely overshadowed by them putting out MTXs day 1 and some weird PC issues that make it hard to play for some currently. I've only just scratched the surface of the game myself but it has so much to explore, so much to do, and it is all honestly well crafted and doesn't feel like an afterthought to fill empty space. The world feels very much like a world that is alive and dangerous. On the gameplay front, it's a bit quirky if you haven't played something like this before. Not much of a learning curve but you will always find something to give you an advantage in fight. Vocations are all interchangeable as well, so definitely play around with them if you haven't already. Now to get to the MTX front. I've found everything you can buy. In this instance, the MTXs all feel like an afterthought that were added on after the game was finished and was most likely added to make it easier for those who have little time to do a lot of exploring and just want to play the story without issue. I'll admit that it's a bit weird but it doesn't take away from anything in game and it isn't in your face about any of it like some games can be. On the technical front, I've had little issue myself running it with a 3080ti and an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. I've hit a couple areas that would drop down from 60 to 40 FPS but other than that, no problems. I know that won't be the same for everyone though, so hopefully they put out a fix soon that helps those players. At the end of the day, the game is great. It plays great, it feels great, and it definitely is worth getting at the end of the day (even if you're waiting for a sale. $70 USD definitely turned some people off too lol)

TLDR
  • Game is fantastic even though it's being overshadowed by MTX and tech issues currently
  • MTXs are barely noticeable and you get everything without issue. They are also not in your face about buying them even if it is a bit weird how they handled this
  • Gameplay is a ton of fun and the world feels purposefully built, alive and dangerous
  • Vocations are interchangeable so play around with them
  • I'm running the game with a 3080ti and AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with slight issues in frames here and there. So definitely wait for the patch if you were on the fence due to your PC setup before purchasing or playing.
  • Game is worth picking up, whether on sale or when they resolve some of the tech issues people have experienced

Long story short, the current state of the game is bad.

Cons
- It's only got 12 teams currently. The current team release schedule is one new team every 3 months. Which means it's going to take a couple years before every team was in the game
- You get disconnected from the servers regularly which forces you to restart single player games from the beginning
- Star Players Skills are missing from the game. They don't have plans to add them until November 2023 making star players essentially useless for the entire year
- Multiple Block skill is missing from the game
- The microstansactions are SUPER anti-consumer and currently all cosmetics are microtransactions. This basically means to outfit your team to make them look unique, you'd have to spend 4,950 Warpstones which comes out to ~$45. The biggest issue here is that these items can only be used once. You put them on a player an no other player can use them unless you remove them from the other player. This means if you want to outfit all of your teams you have to purchase the same cosmetic item multiple times
- Menu UI is constantly disappearing
- Offline doesn't have the same progression as your online. If you play the "story" while connected to online and you suddenly can't reconnect to the servers then you would have to start from the beginning offline. You also don't have any of the teams you made while connected to the servers when offline
- Competitive is non-existent until May
- The customization options like pitch, cheerleaders, balls, etc aren't in the game and only cheerleaders and balls are in the game if you purchased the brutal edition
- For some reason Fouling refuses to work every time. If you're standing next to a player and go to foul it will sometimes assume you want to leap instead instead, even after saying you want to foul and selecting the player to foul
- The AI is dumber than a sack of bricks
- I've been trying for a bit to see the state of online play but I can't even find matches
- Sometimes you'll finish a game and it'll just ignore the fact you just played that game and make you do it all over again in single player
- Missing systems that should have been in the game and just opting to release them every 3 months instead
- Sometimes all of your formations you saved won't show up

Pros
- It's blood bowl. Despite a ton of technical issues and questionable practices, the core gameplay is still a ton of fun
- If it works then you'll have a good time playing a game. But only if it works....and keeps the score from the game
- The team screen is actually not awful. You can save formations before a game, selecting skills isn't terrible and purchasing players, rerolls, etc is made easy. You can also easily see your players laid out and quickly find the information you need to see for each player. There could be minor tweaks but overall that part isn't bad

Overall, in it's current state I'd say it's a solid 3/10 and I'd recommend waiting at a minimum a year before picking this up. Which is disappointing because I was seriously looking forward to this game and I'm just beyond disappointed with it currently

The sub zoomed away while I was repairing the outside of the hull, only to reappear and crush me on the sea floor. 10/10 best game

I had a colony where everyone died in an electrical fire.....then the colony became settled again and then everyone died in a fire caused by lightning.....then the colony became settled again and then it was raided and they caused another fire. Long story short I started another save and lost that colony to starvation caused by a fire. This game is great.

10/10 would recommend

I have played this game on multiple platforms. I am absolutely enthralled by this game and the world that Bethesda has created. It is the type of game that you can get stuck playing for hours. And in all that time you have played...it was spent exploring. Enjoy all
