I don't really know what I was expecting from the story mode prior to the full release of this game, I just thought the demo was fun and thought the visual style of everything was incredible. One thing I guess I thought would be the case was that the story would be more coherent than it ended up being.

It’s not completely incomprehensible, but as I was playing through the story, I started to get really frustrated because I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I wasn't sure if it was the games fault in the way it was presenting itself or if it was my fault for being stupid or illiterate, or some other factor(s) influencing the way I felt. It made me feel unsure if this was a game I should keep playing, if I was just wasting my time, but I wanted to see it through to the end. After a bit, I stopped trying to think really hard about it and just started trying to feel it, and I think that's where it clicked more for me.

Just trying to feel the game made me appreciate everything within the game so much more, because the love put into it feels so palpable. Everything in this game wraps together to convey this feeling about passion, pursuing ones ambitions and the struggles that come with the pursuit, in such an effective way that it feels like a massive punch to the gut (a good punch that doesn't suck and hurt). It's infectious, it makes me want to follow my dreams and ambitions more so than I already do, despite the hardships I may face.

I'm not sure if I'm making any sense, or if I'm doing the game justice or a disservice in the way I describe it. I found it kind of hard to write this review, and I feel like many other pieces of art try to deliver a similar message/idea (if I'm even extrapolating the right idea from this game, if there is such a thing as a "right" idea), but this game just hit me harder than most for some reason, and it gave me both the desire to try and explain that reason (hopefully not sounding pretentious while doing so), and the courage to upload it as a public review.

I don't think this game is perfect or something everyone should play, there are little issues throughout like audio dialogue either not matching written dialogue or (seemingly) being absent, and transitions between gameplay and cutscene being really rough, making it really easy to miss notes. However, if your in a rut or just feeling kind of lost when it comes to your passions & ambitions, and you think the game looks interesting, then I'd say absolutely give it a shot because hopefully it'll help alleviate or eliminate that feeling, if even for just a moment.

The games also a pretty fun rhythm game at it's core so ya know, if that seems more appealing than what I've yapped about then yeah I'd still recommend it.

A fantastic addition to an already perfect game. Echoes of the Eye is just as good, sometimes better than the base game. Highly recommend it.

One of the most uniquely fun games I've played in a long time. The fact 30 dollars is the normal price is crazy, I don't think I'd even mind if this cost more. It is well worth the 30 dollars, highly recommend.

I love Uncharted so keep em coming Sony port the Nathan Drake collection please. (only real issue with this is some micro stutters from time to time but I'm sure they'll be fixed probably I think, otherwise great port)

Very fun expansion, even if the two fighting styles are just brawler and beast ported over to the dragon engine. They managed to make them really fun with the repel and iron guard upgrades.

I think this game legitimately rivals Zero for best RGG game. Objectively zero is probably the better game, however I think this games my personal favorite. The combat is so good, the music, characters, story is all fantastic. To me this game is near perfection, I love it so much. Very highly recommend.

Such a good game. Fun combat, good music, great characters, compelling and intriguing story, funnier than I though it would be, overall a great game, one of RGGs best. Highly recommend.

I feel like it should have been stated this was a more sandbox type of experience than Boneworks. I didn't like how with Boneworks the story felt really vague and you had to search for the answers to the lore, and with Bonelab it feels like they tripled that feeling as I don't get the story even a little bit. Not to mention the fact its only takes like 3-5 hours to beat. Overall, kinda disappointed with the story.
There's also a lot of things they don't explain but really should. I'll go with a non-spoiler, but if you remember the annoyance of having to replay the story levels in Boneworks to collect all the capsules and weapons, that's been fixed, mostly. There's no more reclaimation bins, and instead you simply have to pull apart the capsules you find with both hands, but they never explained that. I would find the capsules and didn't realize for a bit you have to pull them apart in order to unlock the stuff, so I ended up missing a bunch of stuff I could have unlocked. There's an even bigger offender of the "Barely an explanation" issue and thats how to continue the story. People have had to make literally guides just on how to continue it. Its dumb and they need to fix that. IDK how but I managed to figure everything out without looking anything up, but I was pretty close to looking up a guide on the story issue.
However I'd say the rest of the game is pretty good. Its still got that Boneworks jank that will hopefully be refined with more updates. The new additions like the avatars are neat. The music slaps, unsurprisingly, and the future of this game looks pretty good, with hopefully plenty of mod and official support and updates.
Overall just a teeny bit disappointed with the game, if you're looking for a structured story experience like Boneworks, this ain't it, but if you're looking for a silly sandbox VR game and you don't mind spending 40 bucks, then go for it.

Damn good game, great characters, great music, great story, great everything. I thought the switch to turned based combat would suck or be awkward, but the TBC is actually pretty fun. The only real downside to it is that levels really matter so you may or may not have to grind levels depending on how you play. Other than that this is definitely one of the best in the series.

Early Access Review
So happy they decided to make a sequel to slime rancher, I got so much nostalgia from originally discovering the game before it was even on steam, to every major update they added, and now there's finally more slime rancher. 3 thumbs up
