I am loving this game being back and think people should definitely give it a try, however, the state of the matchmaking bugs is simply embarrassing for a full release.
I will wholeheartedly endorse this game once those issues are patched.

A fantastic remake of the original offering so much new content its crazy.
worth every penny

Honestly the game is a lot of fun but I recommend waiting for the full release as the frequent crashes may ruin your experience of a genuinely good game.

Initially it is all great, I just need to decide if its worth playing on my hardware at 30-50fps lowest. (1050ti is below spec)

It is CSGO, enough said.

One of the few BRs that I find palatable.
The movement is decent, the gunplay is great, and the overall teamwork is good. It is a fun game but it's held back by the fact that it isn't Titanfall 3.

Still one of my favourite BR games.

The forge system was definitely a game changer in BR games at the time, and I found that the more casual playstyle was very fun and refreshing, I only wish its playerbase lasted longer.

Of course it had its faults (the server issues of Hi rez games is why I stopped playing).

This was the most fun BR I played and was great fun with my friends, and one of the few games I actually decided to get good at.

A dancing doughnut hit me for 100 damage... 10/10

I do recommend this game.

But I need to preface everything by saying that this game will not be for everyone. This isn't some small warning, I believe a large percent of people will not enjoy this game. This is not only because of the lack of action or urgency that a lot of people require from a game, but instead from the crippling technical issues.

I love this game dearly as can be seen from my 100% achievement playthrough. I played it at the exact time I needed to in my life, at least I think so. I have been suffering from a sort of insomnia and having this game to gently travel through its beautifully rendered and realised desert setting, while taking my time with the characters and quests, without stress or being burdened by any linearity in my decisions of what to do, was truly a joy. Sometimes I just found myself simply sitting looking out at the gorgeous environments as it shifted from day to night while I was on call with my friends. This game was ultimately for me just a nice comfort game during these sleepless nights and I dearly thank the devs for giving that to me.

This being said this game is a janky, poorly optimised mess. One of its core mechanics, climbing, constantly bugs. This can manifest in different ways with you constantly mounting the same area, randomly falling off the object (usually if it is moving) , sometimes just refusing to climb all together, and many more. All of these are perfectly demonstrated to anyone who tried to climb the seven sisters. During this climb you will also find my next big issue, pop-in/ rendering issues. These can manifest with entire rocks or mountains disappearing under your feet as well as just classic pop-in. I wont be critiquing any of the actual game itself just the unintentional issues, and saying this, the entire game feels janky to play and is poorly optimised with my fps going from 60 to 17 depending on where I was. But if you are able to get past all these issues you will truly find a game that you will love, I know I did.

The well realised characters, fun coming of age story, and feeling of ultimate freedom, flows through this game as well as the beautiful serenity of the environment and travelling through it on samoon. These things will stick with me for a long time afterwards and I can definitely see myself coming back to experience it again. Maybe a year or a few months from now on a rainy day or sleepless night I will come back for that sense of comfort.

As my next game in my reviewing journey I quite enjoyed my time with this game.

This game draws you in with its impeccable artstyle and in the opening scene you are introduced to the first of many great songs that you will hear throughout the playthrough. This ost rivals the artstyle itself, perfectly scoring the heartfelt, wordless story of a character who has lost there voice.

The story is fairly simple but left somewhat ambiguous which is appreciated. Most of it is shown through the beautifully animated cutscenes or through areas of the environment. The secret scene for those achievement hunters is appreciated as well.

The gameplay and platforming is fairly simple but in most cases is fluid and well animated. This never really leads to frustration but is not the most engaging and for those looking to play this as a puzzle platformer alone i would not recommend it. the gameplay is complementary to the soundtrack, artstyle, and story. This works perfectly in my opinion and the fairly linear gameplay is satisfying and beautiful.

I would recommend this game to all who love oogling artstyles and listening to a good ost or those just looking for a very short relaxing game session.
