This is a recommendation with a BIG asterisk. There are major technical problems with this game. You will be frustrated by them.

However, the core of the game is good. It feels like you're playing an extended episode of TNG, DS9, or Voyager and that's impressive to pull off.

I'm not sure how to rate this. I think it falls a little more into the positive than the negative.

I appreciate what the game is trying to do and I did find it to be a nice break from other games but somehow the experience is fairly disjointed. It simultaneously has too many steps to get certain tasks done and not enough to do for when you want to lose yourself in the game. The story is consistent with the overall way the game progresses but feels somewhat disjointed since you have characters show up for brief moments and leave before you have any story come to completion.

I think this game is almost a rorschach test in that if you want to find a bunch of meaning it you will. If you want to have neat little game you will. But either way I don't know that the game is doing a ton of heavy lifting.

A fun little game. Had some great funny moments and doesn't really take too long to get through everything.

The one problem I had with it was that you couldn't progress the conversations with the mascots while they were resting or on jobs. It makes sense but the end result is that you bank up a few of the mascots conversations and then they feel less special in a batch and you pay less attention. That makes the characters not pop as much as they should.

This is more of a neutral review rather than positive but there's enough good here that it's hard to give this a thumbs down.

I think the ultimate problem with this game is the lack of content outside of the main objectives of the game including the main tasks, the side quests, and the worldbuilding. That sounds strange since that seems like it should be enough but far too often there's exactly one way to approach a problem or one path to accomplish a task. For many games this is fine but somehow in framing the game around being a cat it feels very limiting. The effect is that the game constantly feels like you're coming up against the invisible walls.

However, it does successfully tell its story, have reasonably memorable characters/moments, a good mix of activities, and creativity in its world and design. You probably won't regret playing it but you will also probably be left feeling like it could've been more.

A neat little puzzle game. Not really much more to it than what you see on the store page but that's good enough to be entertaining. The oddball interactions for the stamps are probably the best part of the game since they do make you think about things in strange ways.

It feels like this game wants to be Metal Gear Solid minus the over-the-top story and crazy characters. Unfortunately what's left is just a very OK game. Few things in the game are terrible but nothing really stands out about it.

Unfortunately that means there are just better games you should play instead: the Metal Gear Solid series and the Mass Effect series in particular.

A legendary game. While "City" refined it a bit, there's a lot of charm and interesting choices in the first game which make it just a fantastic bit of fun.

The biggest downside with this game (all the Arkham games and their derivatives really, but some are better and some are worse) is what I call "derp mode" where you go from being given the controls of a legendary fighter to having a button labeled "get punched in the face". It happens and it's frustrating when it happens because frequently the game thinks its your responsibility to learn its idiosyncrasies (like exactly how many degrees the range is for picking targets or exactly how long a distance animations will take you). But eventually you do learn to avoid Batman's derp disability for the most part and everything is good.

Neat little game but it's very shallow.

The combination of having the letters for target words be effectively independent of each other (not really sure what they could have done here but it ends up being different from most factory games) and the ability to save off a contained factory for each letter lead to a very strange experience. Yes you do get evaluated for different things like number of objects and how long it takes to complete the goal but these mechanics really enforce that you can only optimize for one and there's no real motivation to go for one or another other than leaderboards. This leaves the game where you kinda need to invent your own fun but all there is to do is pick a word to create and there isn't much difference between them.

However, figuring out how to make the different letters is interesting and the game is short enough to not overstay its welcome so overall it was fun for what it was.

I really want to like this game more than I do. The overall premise is fun and I love the personality they infuse it with.

However, the gameplay is... like holding the sharp end of the sword: usable and exciting but once you squeeze too hard it's just pain.

You can get most of the way into the game with it being light and fun but then they introduce a terrible mechanic: failing to correctly respond to attacks regenerates stance.

The first time this "perfecting" mechanic shows up it's not so bad and the game eases you into handling multiple enemies at once with it via environmental interactions. Everything is looking good until you get close to the end of the game. Fights start to either have no environmental help or throw *tons* of these enemies at you at once. Instead of the combat continuing to fun and exciting (channeling a swinging from the chandelier mentality) it devolves into drudgery as combat can take forever, any mistakes are severely punished, and all of that creativity in combat goes out the window.

You might be thinking "oh, you're just bad at this kind of 'parrying' game" and I am but here's the scenario I found all too often: you end up close to a wall (areas are sometimes kinda small), the camera decides to go into said wall making it difficult to understand what's going on, you dodge to get some space from the wall to regain your vision, that dodge wasn't the correct response to one of the combatants and now all of that progress you've made towards the next hit on that enemy is gone. At some point it just loses the fun.

Fantastic but it I have to add one of my least favorite caveats in any media: "It gets good after the first part". Yeah, episode one while not terrible doesn't do the rest of the episodes justice in just how interesting they get. And really, it wasn't until the end of episode two that I was really hooked. Everything past that is gold.

So then the question is: can you endure the first part to get to a phenomenal gaming experience?
