A fairly steep and punishing learning curve, but one that is worth overcoming.

I own all the pins and shirts and merch from this game. The style has become almost iconic and memorizing. However, playing the game itself is lacking. A turn based RPG that oozes in style and horrifically cool imagery, but lacks in compelling storytelling, characters, and interactions. A spectacle that wears off after just an hour, and I couldn't help but feel unfulfilled with my my time spend with WOH.

One of the best survivor horror experiences I have ever played.

All the characters talk the same with little differences in writing that distinguishes each killer. Scenes and set-pieces are horribly put together and going from one moment to the next is like a car crash. Which makes it jarring when you go from sucking psychopath face on the beach to being escorted to another part of the beach and entering another scene where the same killer talks about how they don't like you. Feels as if I am jumping from one timeline to another and back again with little consistency. Constant issues with overlapping BGM's, overlapping character portraits, and spelling mistakes. The writing tries very hard to wink at the player and let them know that this game is not serious and is a funny little experiment, which ruins the gimmick. None of the jokes landed for me, and I think that this game would have been much more interesting if it was played a bit more straight. A DBD dating game is funny as is, why keep pointing to it?

Constant performance issues and crashing. The game was not ready for a 1.0 but here it is.

an unpolished but entertaining finale to the Zero Escaspe trilogy.

Look up how to get the bike and then try your best to avoid using the wiki. Trying to play the game with the intent to beat it won't do you any good. Play to explore, I promise it will be worth it in the end.

Recent rework made the game slow and incredibly boring mechanically. Previous version of the game was also very problematic but they somehow managed to take anything that was interesting or unique about it away. There are other hidden role games that are much more unique and rewarding than this.

If you enjoyed SOMA, then this will be more than suitable. I found myself in love with the art, settings, and characters. However, this game is not scary at all for those fairly seasoned to horror games. Memorable puzzles, great setting, and a story that I felt did not drag on at all. Horror games are known to drag sometimes, but this 6-8 hour game was perfect. One encounter was memorable, but other than that, I felt that the monsters were fairly forgettable. A solid experience, but nothing groundbreaking.
