DayZ is probably one of the best looter/shooter/survival games ever made. It is old and a little janky but it still holds up to even the most modern entries in the genre. That is thanks to a very active community of developers and private servers. There is basic Dayz and extremely modded Dayz and everything in between. It's a classic that might never really go out of style.

14 Years later I can still hop on for a few games and have a blast. This game is GOATed, but you already knew that!

Game isn't bad but is falling far behind many other FPS titles. It has some of the great nostalgia feel of Halo 3(which IMHO was one of the best Halos) but continues to suffer from some of the most annoying things that bugged me about the game back 15 years ago!!! Like having head shots just not register at all or having people melee you at the length of a sword lunge. It seems like the servers are just stuck with a permanent latency that is just unfitting for a serious FPS game. Also the map selection is pathetic considering how many great legacy maps they have to draw from but have left in the dust bin. Also last time I played they didn't even have ranked duos or the forge!! It is too little too late for this game.

Welcome to the game that pits you VS a moving blue field of death, which moves faster than you can sprint and can be so deadly you will say to yourself "You've got to be kidding me, I looted and searched for other players for 20 minutes just to die to a blue forcefield? Why do I even play this stupid-ass game?". Gameplay may involve occasional combat.

No but seriously for a game that is supposed to be player vs player FPS the blue field hogs its share of importance, often greatly determining winners and losers and killing you and others entirely too often. Seriously game devs WTF WERE YOU EVER THINKING?
