The AI "chat with a character" feature is creepy. (At least they tell you it's AI in the UI.) I'm pretty sure they're using some AI text-to-speech too? Sometimes the S sounds are very synthetic sounding. (Could just be very aggressive audio compression?)

Just not feeling the gameplay overall.

It's pretty good I guess. (571 hours played. And more before Steam.)

Also, the DLC? Amazing. Usually DLC is like, "here's 20% more game for 50% of the cost of the original." Space Age DLC is easily 2x or 3x more game than the original. Each planet is a fun variation of the base gameplay. Building and optimizing your space platforms is a game in itself. Plus, there are lots of great QoL improvements throughout. <3 <3 <3

Bought this game at $15 because I hear it's so great. But after 3.3 hours of "playing" the game, I'm no longer eligible for a refund. I say "playing" because most of it was:

1. Trying to get my PS5 controller to work. (The first tutorial it prompts me to enable input, and then the camera just starts spinning. No other games have this problem. Finally figured out that I need to go *against* steam's suggestion of using the game's built-in support for this controller.)
2. Going through the in-game tutorials to learn how to even play the first missions.
3. Replaying portions of the beginning of the game because, despite the game telling me it would save my progress while I was in the tutorial, it did not. Sitting through bad unskippable dialog.
4. Losing my first ship and trying to figure out... now what? (Seriously, why isn't that just game over? Seemingly no way to recover.)

All of these just made me feel like the game was wasting my time more than it was fun to play. I'm sure there's a lot of game there, but I've got better things to do with my time.

Recently got back into this game. They've added so much since launch!

I even bought it for console as well because, IMO, its relaxing pace goes really well with taking it easy on the couch. I just wish they supported moving your save game between Steam/PS5.
