Early Access Review
Stoneshard is a great game worthy of your time if you are a fan of the rouge-like genre or like the concept of a challenging turn based experience. The game play is hard and unforgiving while still being fair and your choices or what to take and use matter. Don't let any negative reviews put you off as I can see how this is isn't for everyone, but if the setting, game play or even art style interests you maybe give it a go, or at least take a look at some game play on YouTube.

Simply a must play for anyone who grew up with the early 8-bit style of platforming games. The urge to explore and find all for the secrets combined with the fluid [if on the outside simple] mechanics make this a joy to play through. One other worthy note is the soundtrack which is simply fantastic and never feels like it is grating, even giving the chiptune style. The addition of multiple characters who all play completley differently also add to the appeal and keep me coming back to a game that is worthy of the time for those with any hint of platforming nostalgia.

Typical local muliplayer game synopsis
Me playing game: Carefully try to time attacks and weave them around my friends defenses. Try to predict what he is going to do and set up the correct block and prepare for the counter play. Save my super meter for exactly the right opening.
My friend playing game: MASH ALL THE BUTTONS!!!

Game results: Dirty button mashing friend wins most games.
