This game is fantastic and a testament to what actually listening to feedback gets you.

HOWEVER, there are two glaring issues here and many have already noted it...I'll give my two cents as well though:

1. Performance. It's awful. Unreal Engine 5 is the default engine of choice for AAA game devs for some stupid reason now. That's just how it is right now and it's...really not working well. Some devs know how to make it work, but most just...don't. They want you to rely on upscaling and frame gen...no. Not the way forward. Indie developers have this sorted out

2. Randy Bitchford. Yep...he's at it again...ruining any good will fans have towards the games and making things worse for himself. He won't stop at shooting himself in the foot on Twitter, nope...he's shooting himself in both feet, his hands, his d*ck, and so on. He just can't help it. He thinks we are entitled because we point out the glaring performance issue. He's wrong. He thinks too highly of himself and needs to be put on a leash ASaP.

For these two reasons, the game is a not recommended. Wait for a sale if you decide to get it, because by then maybe Randy Bitchford will stop being Randy Bitchford long enough for the game's performance to be sorted.

Larian has a history of making great CRPGs, starting with Divinity: Original Sin (not to be confused with Divine Divinity, the first in the series). They always take care to craft a game worthy of the genre, although their first attempts were basically Action RPGs that were cloned from Diablo, but still very good. Baldur's Gate 3 is easier than these games, but that makes it a bit more accessible. It also has elements of 5E D&D by design, so if you're a fan of D&D, I'm sure you already knew about this game and don't need to read my review of it.

Basically, it's a phenomenal game, not just a phenomenal RPG. A lot of care and time went into it, and we got to test it since late 2020 (those of us who paid for early access anyway). It deserves to set the bar for what games SHOULD be. That doesn't mean that other developers have to make it in the same size and scope, just that they should actually put love and care into games again...without scummy monetization schemes. Profit will come with a good game!

The game itself is great and the new modern control scheme is intuitive, works very well for someone like me who plays very little in terms of fighting games. Helps out a lot!

The bad part for me is the fact that I can't log into my CAPCOM ID at all in the game. So I go to the website and try to log in there. Successfully get on my account, the one I KNOW my Steam is linked to...to discover that it's not linked. So I try to link it. It says it's linked to another account. Okay then...

I try to log into my two other accounts...same issue...I'm linked to another account, and I have no idea what's going on. It could be the fact that I had to remake the ID I know for a fact I tied my account to before. CAPCOM should make it easier to actually play the online components of their games, because I'm locked out for no due reason. If I was bigger on multiplayer elements, I'd probably have refunded the game.

Basically, in summary: The single player options are fantastic and the gameplay itself is smooth. The control scheme options are great and lots of other things are good on the gameplay elements. The big downside is how they lock you out of online if you can't sign into a CAPCOM ID, which I have had to contact support about, and due to the wait times they've announced, I think it'll be a while before I'm even touching most of the online components...Thanks CAPCOM...I guess.

Open game on two different systems, game goes to the studios logos (Treyarch, Raven, etc.), and then it crashes with the same error every time (0xC0000005). Looked through various fixes and going through support, nothing is working, support is useless on this issue. Fix your game or don't release it, it's that simple.

Even after recent patches, on an RX 6800 with a Ryzen 5 3600 @ 4.3GHz, 32GB 3200MHZ DDR4 RAM, a relatively fast NVME SSD, and on Windows 11 Pro, I cannot run this game without getting the immersion breaking loading screens every five to ten minutes. FIX THIS PLEASE!

Honestly, I'm not sure what people are complaining about. I've not played COD for years (for good reason), and this game is as solid as it gets. I have yet to touch the campaign because I plan to finish up MW 2019's campaign soon, but from what I hear, it's good. The only downside is that I wouldn't recommend buying this for 70 dollars. No game with this many microtransactions (in a PAID GAME no less STILL to this day!) should be that price. Otherwise, I'd say it's worth it for 50 or less. I've had a good time for the 4-5 hours I've put into it thus far!

I'm incredibly disappointed with the direction 343i has gone. They aren't competent and don't know how to make games.

Game released with no firefight, no splitscreen, and no Forge.

Devs never listen to the community.

More focused on monetization than making a quality game.

No thanks. Goodbye, Halo. Was nice while it lasted.

Can't get this game to run no matter what fixes I apply. If anyone can help me to sort this out, it would be appreciated and my feedback would change to positive. I miss playing this game.

EDIT: Got it to run, but the performance is so garbage that I can't play justifiably. This game's a mess.

Early Access Review
Avoid. They decided to implement a security patch for a VERY small minority of malicious modders that essentially kills modding in this game. It's not worth the price, and the price is free.

A classic game, the best in the series, and honestly nothing else will probably ever top it in terms of creativity of guns and other loot.
