This game left me speechless.

If you are still hesitating in playing it... Please don't. It is fully worth the price.

The entirety of this masterpiece is handcrafted by talented people who were truly passionate about creating and painting (!) what has become one of the best-selling games of the decade. That passion really comes through in every aspect. It really is a breath of fresh air to see a double A single-player game of this quality in recent years.

Here is my opinion starting with the pros and ending with the c-ns (without spoilers):

Pros >
- Storytelling > Well written, easy to follow yet complex once you dive into the details. The story is linear, so the burden (usually found in the open-world genre) of having to make so many different choices and getting lost in them is not present in E33. It is simple and works well this way.
- Soundtrack (OST) > Mindblowing, it perfectly drives the emotions of every scene. Even right from the start menu, the first melodies are giving goosebumps. It happened a few times that some music kept me sit at some places, made me appreciate the landscapes even more.
- Gameplay (or rather, combat system) > Really smooth overall. The parry and dodge mechanic is clever, creating a rhythmic flow that rewards precision and timing.
- Voice Acting > The VA is made by talented actors such as Jennifer English starring as Maelle character, every line of dialogue feel authentic and impactful.
- Graphics > I will say, the visuals are really on point. The artistic aspect is what makes most of it though.

C-ns (censored word for some reason, I had to put a dash...) >
- Optimization > Technically, some textures are poor and it looks like the game could have been running way better if it wasn't under Unreal Engine 5. Few years ago I played some titles that looked pretty much like this one and ran better... How come?
- Voice Acting (localization) > I could have played with the voice overs in French as I'm a native there but after trying... I couldn't do it. After listening to the first lines during the very first cutscene, there were sentences lost in translation. It wasn't quite comprehensive. Also, I found the acting way better with English voices and more immersive as the lipsync (mouth movements) are based on that language. I've gathered people thoughts on that matter and it seems like most of them don't think the same as me. Anyway, I’m only saying this to advise playing the game in its original language for the best experience.
- Replayability > I finished the game in about 30 hours, which is close to the average time it takes most players to complete it without rushing. After experiencing the main story entirely, there isn't any mean to resume and do the side stuff. The loot is interesting but not to the point of really going back and finding everything that is hidden...
At the time of writing this review, I have noticed that there is a free update which is adding content, so it partly invalidates my point here but oh well... What I meant is: usually after the main story is finished > Game is uninstalled unless you wanna 100% it or close to this by doing things that I have mentionned above.

To conclude: amazing and memorable game that I truly had a great time playing. I can’t recommend it enough.

One last thing: this game was made by a team of just 30 developers. Some triple A studios could definitely learn a thing or two from them. The standards have certainly been raised.
This game has no hidden agenda; it’s pure passion in every aspect.

Short ~8 hours game.

If you don't know anything about the Warhammer universe, this game can be a good introduction to it.

The game is decent.

Around 4 hours of progression into the campaign, I was really hit by the repetitiveness of always having to fight the same kind of enemies by waves, so I've had to push through. I admit, there was one or two times where I simply knew that I could keep on sprinting and rolling same time as avoiding the enemies (speedrunning through), to get to the objective. I was rushing as there were too many of the same combats going on.
The save system is dated (13 years old game). It always puts the player in the same exact state he was when reaching the checkpoint. Let's say he is low hp, reaches one and then dies a few moments later, he gets back to that checkpoint spot with low hp (same amount of ammo too...), making it accidentally way way harder to progress...

By pushing through it and not quitting, there was always a scene within the progression that spiked my interest to keep going. The story is good (even though a bit generic), the voice acting is great, the OST is decent, animations are what makes the fights so enjoyable...

Enough good things in this game to keep on progressing till the end. It also helps a ton that the game sets up in the Warhammer universe...

All in all, rough -- But good.

Just finished the main story of the game a few minutes ago. Took me 17 hours by being focused only on the main stuff, and also in taking my time not speeding through it.

This game is really good. I've had a great time playing it. This much that I might go for a second run in a different difficulty (a new game+ if there is one).

I believe it is the only game combining both genres Third Person Shooters + Dark Souls like. The mix of both is a magnificent idea, perfectly executed here.

The features that I like about the game are the following ones :

- The smoothness of the fights
- Epic soundtrack (OST)
- Bosses (and the fact that there are many of them)
- Animations
- -Dark- art style
- Graphics
- Loading times : there are only a few of them to go through as it usually loads gigantic zones in barely 10 seconds.
- Not every players will get the same playthrough. Depending on the character / choices made in the story, the paths to go through will differ.
- Online mode. Although it seems to be in Peer 2 Peer, there was no appearent lag, no desyncs.
- Online community. As I was in public mode so anybody could join, random people went in. The few of them playing weren't "boosting", being overleveled. I like that they also waited before going further, not speeding through everything alone. They actually wanted the coop experience.
- Ending opens for a new game+. Gear as well.

Disliked :
- I've had an RTX 2060 as a GPU for the entire first part of the game. It wasn't pleasant playing in areas where it was dipping below 30 FPS by times. I'd say the optimisation is lacking, that is even with DLSS. Changed for an RTX 3080 for the later part then it was obviously night & day difference averaging 90 FPS the whole time. So for those who have low end GPUs take in consideration that the game has performance issues, even if you put it in low quality it won't change much.
- The lack of items to find. The rare loot to find is close to non-existant. You will mostly end up buying a better weapon than actually finding one anywhere. Whenever the one weapon is bought, it is kept for 3/5th of the playthrough as it is only about upgrading it for the most part. Same for the rest of gears.
- The main character's voice lines. It is poorly dubbed. It wasn't necessary to had lines such as "ooh dammit" when running out of ammo or "*laughing* finally it is finished" after killing all ennemies in a zone. Some of these lines feel really off, sometimes awkward...
- Puzzles, non-sensical for most of them.
- The map. It will never tell you exactly where to go, which isn't a bad thing in itself but, the zones will have to be discovered entirely even when it is not the right place for the quest... Which can be annoying by times as there are zones where there is absolutely nothing to do except cleaning mobs.
- Price is 50€ (euros) at the time I am writing this review. It would have been fair if it was 30€. A bit expensive then.

To me, the likes outweighs the dislikes for this game.

When it comes to recommanding anyone to buy it :

Do you like Souls and Third Person Shooter games?
Do you have a decent PC with a series 3xxx from Nvidia or the equivalent for AMD?
Are you willing to be spending this much for a ~20 hours long game?

If you answer 'yes' for these questions, then I'd say go buy it eyes closed. It is a great time no matter what, even better if you got a friend to play it with.

My mom is a Mexican maid, you might know her..." - "Mmh...

I was searching for a good single player game to have fun on so I stumbled upon this one which I remember looked great.

Maybe two years ago I putted two hours into it, I abandonned on the second boss fight.

Today I abandonned on third boss fight, so it is a little further than my previous playthrough. I thought I was about to throw my controller out the window...
If I am bad at Dark Souls-like games I can understand, but I legitimately ragequitted for - I think - legit reasons :

- Some fights on really small areas that will become difficult not because enemies are strong, but rather that objects like benches, pillars, vase pots will make the rooms narrow. Lack of space to move in, the camera blocking within every walls so it zooms-in and out a lot...
- Speed is really weirdly managed : I was ending up pulling faster hitting movements with a hammer as opposed to a small one-handed hatchet, which doesn't make sense.
- Camera lock is a problem on a lot of games, this one included. It can't automatically find that one little enemy lurking beside the boss so I happened to die few times for this particular reason.
- Little mobs (bosses' minions) are really fast and deal small hits, if we correlate it to the fact that the game is slow, it is already a pain to throw a hit on an animation that lasts a long 5 seconds, for just a small mob to literally cancel it all the motion with one hit. Come on...
- Underwhelming dialogs between characters.

Great things about the game :

- OST is really good, epic theme making it immersive.
- Animations are well-made. (even if too slow)
- The textures are great, it looks great in general. (for its age)
- Art style is unbelievable.
- Clever idea around spending experience points on either magical points or attributes points.

It was such a struggle that I ended up not wanting to continue the adventure. I don't think it is about difficulty but more so about bad design.

So I don't recommend the game for this actual price of 30€, mostly because gameplay is more valuable than visuals and it failed in that regard.

Really good game. The graphics, storyline and atmosphere of this one are great.

There are some cons which annoyed me throughout the adventure :

- The combat mechanics tend to be annoying, especially the lock-system. Clearly notice-able that the game has been made mainly for console players, so on PC if you play with keyboard & mouse there will be this annoying lock between enemies which will prevent from freely looking around when there are enemies beside during fights. Middle-mouse button to switch the horrible camera-lock from an enemy to another.

- The symbol enigmas : Fun for the two or three first ones to go through but then afterwards it becomes redounding ; These are not so complicated overall but you will pretty much take the same amount of time for each of them to be solved. There are too many of them, in my opinion. Every time a big door appears, there is one.

Cons aside, the game is great. Get a decent sound-system with a good spatialization to get even more immersed. Also, play with the lights off for a better experience.
