AMAZING GAME. REALLY WELL MADE!! THAT'S IT!

I really want to like this game - I REALLY do. Underneath the problems there is really something interesting going on here. But as it is, this game is NOT finished. There are SO MANY BUGS and I'm not overstating it when I say I ran into plenty of them.

Aside from bugs that block progress on bosses, bugs that make the game freeze, bugs that cheat you out of objectives, bugs that just make the game look weird - aside from that, there are a lot of things I've seen that really suggests that this game simply isn't DONE yet.

Perks and statuses that don't work or don't trigger, a 'helpful' keyword system where some windows with keywords can't be investigated, repeated lines in descriptions, descriptions with placeholder text; Imagine this - shooting down a tower to clear an objective and instead of rubble underneath, there's a checkerboard tile developer texture.

If they ever clear out these bugs and polish this game up then I'd recommend - it's really very cool on first look! I really hope they fix it and don't just leave it like this. It would be a damn shame.

There is no happiness here.

No mouse invert or key rebinds.
Devs don't seem to see it as an issue.
Game is literally impossible for me to play.

The first Shantae game I've ever played, and if the rest of the games are even close to this level of quality and fun, I'm totally picking them up!

Lots of secrets to find, fun bosses, hilarious writing and lots of replay ability as Wayforward is adding new characters, each with their own play style and story mode. I can't wait!

Sloppy, bug-filled launch clearly rushed for E3.
No ranked party-up with friends system at launch means people lobby-hop until they find their friends, meaning it takes forever to actually get into a game.
(You can play "Kill your Friends mode, but you won't rank up or get any blood points or items, so what's the point?)
Whiny player-base consisting of people that immediately disconnect the moment they start losing.
Unbalanced elements present in the Open Beta still in full force.
Has 3 killers at launch but everyone just plays the Wraith due to being hilariously broken.

Don't launch your multi-player games like this. I can't recommend it in its current state.

An immersive, fun, and creepy game that has a lot of surprises, secrets, and even some hidden collectibles. Not too shabby, for a Ludum Dare!
