🧛 Night Swarm 🧛

I really enjoyed this game (so far), coming from someone who doesn't normally play or even glance in one direction to bullet-hell style games— this was so much fun to play. While I haven't played a lot yet, I definitely plan on playing a lot more, especially for those nights that I just want to chill and kill some sh*t!

Some pros and cons that I've written while playing:

🦇 Pros 🦇
⦁ I NEVER like or play bullet hell types of games and I loved this (if that doesn't say something, I don't know what will). The concept of this game having a story line made me more intrigued and more willing to want to play because I find myself more interested in these style of games if there is a storyline to follow and/or quests to complete.
⦁ I can't say enough kind things about the music/soundtrack of this game. It keeps me so immersed and engaged during the levels and honestly is my favorite thing about the game so far. I loved the classical style music and this had me JAMMIN' for a lot of it and really made the levels feel much more intense!
⦁ I think the game is somewhat difficult as time goes on, but it's nice that it doesn't feel like it throws you to the wolves at all in the beginning portion of the game. It feels like it's very easy to learn and get going without overwhelming you with information.
⦁ It's such a simple yet addicting game. I found myself losing track of time before I realized I was playing for over an hour.

🦇 Cons 🦇
⦁ You can't go back to the castle to return items for quests or upgrade Rodric's perks/stats unless you die or complete the entire path until the boss fight. Give me an option to return to the castle whenever! I don't want to feel stuck with having to complete endless levels to return an item and don't want to force myself to just die.
I recently found out that the narrating/NPC dialogue is AI-generated and I don't totally love that. Please consider paying voice actors! I understand this is difficult for smaller indie companies, but trust me when I say that most of your player base will appreciate it more as it will help with immersive-ness in the game.

I can't recommend this game enough. Tyler (the developer) is so transparent and communicative with his community in informing us of delays in updates and letting us have a voice in what update will be worked on and released next.

You can easily put hundreds of hours into this game, and the fact that it's still in early access baffles me to this day. You can play single player or with friends. I enjoy playing single player because I like playing all of the roles in the game and learning all aspects of it. You can make marijuana, cocaine, meth, and soon shrooms (in the newest update coming early to mid-December 2025). You can create so many different strains and combinations by mixing ingredients and name all the different strains yourself. This game just has everything you can possibly think of; I can't speak positively of it enough. Tyler recently released a cartel update, so now there is a cartel (Benzies) that warns you of selling drugs on "their" turf. You can either reject their proposal to work for them or accept. It makes the game feel more dangerous and fun, honestly. If you reject their proposal, they make your job of selling drugs a lot more dangerous for not only you but also your distributors.

Again, I love this game so much. I go through bouts where I get a little bored and then come back a couple of months later to new content and get addicted again. Is it worth the money? 100%, absolutely. You're also supporting a really awesome dev.

I'll be honest with you, Kiki Games' Team emailed me and provided me a key in exchange for a review. I obliged because I love simulator games like Barista Simulator, Supermarket Simulator, etc. I didn't know that the devs for this completely abandoned the game (according to most reviews and users on Reddit). Also, I found out that the most of the capsule images are AI generated content (the images of clothing in the menus). Obviously, the Steam cover art is AI generated content as well. It's totally my fault and ignorant of me to accept the game without fully researching this as I don't support use of AI in videogames or in a lot of different fields, especially art. I played for about 30-45 minutes to at least fulfill my promise in reviewing and I will say that so far, the game feels very lazily made. It's clunky and I would not recommend it.

🐸✨ The Cauldron Kids ✨🐸

If you're looking for a short, sweet and memorable game, – The Cauldron Kids is where its at! Play games with your sister Layla/Cassie, compete in cute mini-games, and even bring your favorite plushie to life; this game is a must-play!

The Cauldron Kids was an absolute treasure to play, filled with many genuine hearty laughs, adorable dialogue between two sisters, and gorgeous pixel art graphics. As I played, I truly felt my inner child healing.

From start to finish, the interactions between all characters were incredible; the dialogue was absolutely hilarious, and each character had colorful personalities (especially Mr. Vermicelli).

The accessibility options were a huge plus for me, from having the option to disable/enable camera shake, reducing motion sickness, and making the mini-games more accessible for players who prefer a more laid-back playthrough (ME!).

While The Cauldron Kids ended up being a bit shorter than I expected (I completed it in under an hour), after looking through the achievements, The Cauldron Kids does offer some replay value. Being able to replay as Cassie or Layla (for different dialogue), strive for record times in mini-games, along with some more hidden achievements. I will definitely aim for 100%! All in all, The Cauldron Kids created such a fantastic experience for me that I do not regret and is extremely worthwhile.

🐟 DAVID THE DIVER 🤿

Let me start this off by saying that I was never fully expecting to love this game as much as I did. This game provided so many laughs for me, and almost a tear was shed at the end just because I loved the sheer experience that this game created for me. I feel like no game will be able to replicate the feeling I had for Dave the Diver

Dave the Diver can be whatever game you want it to be; it contains something for every kind of player. Do you want to chill and just catch fish? Do it. Want to collect blueprints and make different weapons to kill sharks with? Do it. Do you want to manage a sushi restaurant? Do it. Want to collect fish, Pokemon style? Do it! The game is what you make of it.

I adored this game from start to finish. The countless activities to participate in overwhelmed me in the best way possible and kept surprising me with how many mini-games and endless content there are, separate from the main story. I'll talk a little bit about the mini-games, but if you don't want spoilers, don't hover over this next bit of text! There is a little farming game that you will eventually encounter to be able to grow rice, carrots, eggplants, etc. to unlock more complex dishes at Bancho Sushi, and it just added something to the game that I didn't really expect. Eventually, you will also unlock chickens, and you can harvest eggs for other dishes! One of the other mini-games that I low-key loved was a mobile app that gets added towards the middle of the game that is quite literally Tamagotchi, and I ADORED IT. You had to take care of a virtual fish and feed it, clean its poop, play with it, train it, etc. You even have to turn the lights off on your phone at night, so it sleeps well LOL 😂 It added something extra to do every day, and I really enjoyed that. These little details in the game just really made me love the game even more because it provided a bit more content, and it wasn't even content that felt like a chore to do. They were fun, cute, and never felt annoying to partake in every day. There's so much more extra content in the game; if I talked about every single one of them, this review would quickly become a college dissertation. Just trust me when I say it's AMAZING.

The cutscenes were possibly one of my favorite bits about this entire game. Every cut scene left me smiling, laughing my ass off, or taken aback at how pretty they were—sometimes all three of these feelings simultaneously. It definitely feels like a lot of work went into the cutscenes, and it provided such a unique experience for the player. I'm not even kidding; one cutscene had me f***ing dying laughing.

There are numerous collectibles throughout the game, even a pokemon-esque mini game where you collect one of every fish in every 'zone'. It's actually kind of hard to complete; some fish are hard to find! Eventually, you even get to collect special, unique fish for someone. These fish are super rare, and some are pretty difficult to catch as they will require certain weapons to capture them. But I've found collecting them to be particularly fun and challenging! If you're an achievement hunter, this would be a great game to add to your list, as it's not too easy but still challenging to 100%. As far as replayability, Dave the Diver does hold replay value for certain scenes or achievements if you failed them the first go around, but most achievements are obtainable through your first playthrough; there aren't multiple endings to work towards.

All in all, do I recommend this game? Absolutely, 1000 times yes. It gave me such a beautiful experience that I was not fully expecting when first playing this game, and I'm so glad that I completed this game. I definitely plan on going back and trying to 100% it; you can continue your playthrough after you finish the game, which is really nice for achievement hunters and for anyone who just wants to keep playing. Anyway, thanks for reading. I hope this helps if you were on the fence about purchasing. Have a fantastic day. ❤️

I plan on updating my review after more hours put into the game!

I don't have many hours in this yet, but Enshrouded is absolutely amazing so far. It's pretty optimized for the 5 hours I've played. I run an i11 and 3070 currently, and there are some hiccups in some areas, but for the most part, I'm getting 60 FPS 70% of the time. The crafting is so in-depth and feels so customizable. A lot of people are comparing this to Valheim, and while it does remind me of Valheim, it also gives me Dragon's Dogma and Outward feels. It's a very fun game so far; exploration has been huge for me, and finding hidden chests is so fun! Something I was not expecting at all was the notes or lore to find while you explore. I'm a huge lore nerd, and I have been taken aback by how cool it is to find notes from people who were around when the Shroud began.

I definitely recommend it so far, and I can't wait to see where this game goes! If you're skeptical, just wait for a sale or a full release, but I foresee this game doing really well.

Also, I stream on Twitch and plan on streaming this some more! If you want to come hang out, I can help answer any questions you have as well :)

Fears to Fathom - Ironbark Lookout Review

Let me preface this by saying that I love the Fears to Fathom games immensely. I've played every episode released so far and adore the stories, atmosphere, chilling, eerie sounds, etc. Everything just meshes together so well to make you feel like you are actually there.

With that being said, I say this lightly: this was by far my least favorite episode. This is not to say that the episode is bad. I'm just comparing all four episodes and stating my opinion that this was my least favorite of the four. The story being told in Ironbark Lookout is amazing, and even weeks after beating it, I'm still thinking about the events that unfolded, since the stories being told are based on true stories.

When I say that this was my least favorite episode, I'm mostly referring to bugs/glitches. This was the most buggy episode; maybe I'm among the few that ran into bugs. This could be entirely possible. Don't let that dissuade you from the amazing experience this game can offer you. I crashed twice and even had a couple in-game bugs that messed with immersion. With the two crashes, I lost a bit of game progression and had to replay 20 or so minutes just to catch up to where I stopped.

Another complaint I have is that I fully expected Rayll to have implemented a more detailed sound volume control by now. I enjoy having the option to manipulate sound effects, music, dialogue, etc. I like things at varying volumes; the fact that this isn't a universal option in most games nowadays is interesting, but then again, I'm not a game developer, so this might not be something easy to implement into games. It's not the end of the world, but it is something I would like to see in future episodes.

All in all, the story of Ironbark Lookout is incredibly creepy, entirely believable, and will leave you wanting explanations for everything. I loved the dialogue throughout the game. I am a huge lore nerd and love learning the backstories of characters or about the towns that you explore. The mechanics were definitely more detailed in comparison to the previous episodes, and I did enjoy these quite a bit. You will have the ability to input weather conditions (wind, temperature, and weather) into your computer as a park ranger, and you also have the job of finding campfires/forest fires or helping hikers find their way back to civilization. I really recommend this game to any indie horror game lover.

🌊 Under The Waves 🌊

Diving headfirst into Under The Waves, I was initially expecting a 'Subnautica'-like experience but with a more somber narrative twist. What I encountered, however, was an absolute emotional roller-coaster that left me utterly floored. Under The Waves is a narrative-driven adventure, casting you in the role of Stan, a professional diver struggling with deep-rooted grief. The deep sea's isolating atmosphere serves as a metaphor to Stan's own inner state of mind, resulting in a heart-wrenching choice he must eventually make.

Within the game's breathtaking underwater world, you're granted the freedom to roam and explore the depths freely, capturing stunning images of marine creatures while immersing yourself in an unforgettable story line. The narrative, though undeniably gut-wrenching, is a must-experience, offering a terrifyingly realistic portrayal of the all-encompassing power of grief and the destructive impact of human greed on our oceans.

Crafting mechanics add depth to the gameplay, allowing you to assemble essential items through discovered blueprints and gathered materials during your exploration. Additionally, the game presents collectibles hidden within old shipwrecks, offering a chance to interact with these items within your life module and uncover their lore. You are still able to search for these collectibles even after you've completed the main story line, thoughtfully marked on your map, eliminating the need for tedious location hunting.

All said and done, Under The Waves captivated me completely, rendering me speechless and leaving my face streaked with tears. It ignited within me an intense desire to raise awareness about ocean conservation. I can't recommend this game enough; it's a powerful reminder of the urgency to protect our oceans and care for one another. Dive in and experience this life-changing journey for yourself – it's an adventure you won't want to miss.

The Man Came Around

The Man Came Around is a super unique game with some familiarity (it reminds me of This War of Mine, mixing survival mechanics with making choices in a story. You play the game as five fugitives who want to break free from this messed-up police state. It's all about surviving the freezing cold and making those tough calls that can either make or break your group.

The developer emailed me and asked me to try the game out and I gotta say, I'm really thankful because I probably wouldn't have even known about this game otherwise. As I played through, I got really sucked into the story and the characters. It's not crazy hard to survive, but it's not a total cakewalk either. There are three levels of difficulties to pick from – if you're more into just enjoying the story without stressing too much about staying alive, go for the easier mode. Personally, I found the normal mode to be just right. There were times when I was legit worried about keeping warm and keeping my team alive, but it never got me all frustrated or anything.

Really enjoying this so far and still working on my playthrough so I will update this review when I complete the game!

😈 Cult of the Lamb 😈

Cult of the Lamb is an extraordinary game that seamlessly blends elements of rogue-like, dungeon crawling, and strategy into a divine adventure. From the moment I delved into Cult of the Lamb, I was fascinated by its charming visuals and whimsical art style. The attention to detail in each character and the atmospheric environments create a truly immersive experience. One of the standout features of Cult of the Lamb is its innovative gameplay mechanics. As a lamb-turned-god and cult leader, players are tasked with building and managing their own cult, recruiting followers, and expanding their influence. The game beautifully balances resource management, exploration, and strategic decision-making. Every choice feels meaningful, as it directly impacts the growth of your cult and the challenges you and your followers face.

The roguelike elements of the game ensure that no two playthroughs are the same. Each run presents a fresh set of challenges and surprises, making every session exciting and unpredictable. The game strikes an excellent balance between difficulty and reward, providing a satisfying sense of progression that keeps you coming back for more. The interactions with various characters and the discoveries you make along the way add layers of depth to the overall experience. Moreover, the soundtrack deserves special mention. The ambient tunes perfectly complement the game's atmosphere, further immersing you in its world. The sound design as a whole enhances the overall experience, creating an immersive audiovisual journey.

In terms of replayability, Cult of the Lamb excels in this category. The game's randomly generated levels and the variety of abilities and upgrades ensure that each playthrough feels fresh and engaging. The sheer amount of content to uncover and unlock guarantees countless hours of gameplay, with new surprises waiting around every corner.

Lastly, it's worth mentioning the active and supportive community that has formed around Cult of the Lamb. The developers have demonstrated their dedication by engaging with players, listening to feedback, and providing regular updates, which further enhances the overall experience and showcases their commitment to creating a remarkable game.

In conclusion, Cult of the Lamb is an absolute gem that combines beautiful visuals, innovative gameplay mechanics, and a rich narrative into an unforgettable experience.
