There are not many games that give what this game does...A balance of "I AM A BADASS" and actually having to earn it. Lean too much on the former and you get a mindless video game, the latter and it moves into a frustrating mess....

Doom Eternal is one of these games, and a gold standard to boot.

P.S. Only decided to make a review after the denuvo anti-cheat mess because as I believe it was done poorly, id has since removed it and patched out the performance bugs. hopefully the negative reviews that came because of denuvo will consider reversing their reviews.

One of the better retro FPSes out there, just get it

Though the sequel is already out, this game is still a good playthrough for the sake of a good FPS game with a good story

However cancerous you think the fanbase is, it's still a very good game both story wise and mechanicaly
