I received my refund yesterday 20-11-2024, I bought this after playing around with it for a while on their website, and I do have to say and admit it is plenty of fun, and I liked making the different tunes. BUT... yes there is a very big "BUTT" here, after checking on their website with the links provided by the Steam user, who posted to the thread I started, the Developers could not even take time to reply to answer my simple question.

Before I get that Question. I/we who pay for this music-making app, which is not a lot but I started to think what if I make a neat and cool intro tune for a YouTube video, can I use it, not only that, where can I use the tunes I make by putting all different sounds together, do I have to worry about copyrights, I don't need a copyright strike on my youtube channel or any video. And what if my daughter wanted to use it ya know family sharing, again the same thing if she wanted to use it in a video of hers, I heard nothing from Developers, then it hit me and a question I did not ask in my post, we get this music making app cheap and it is cheap. Do the Developers take the tunes we/I paid to create, so we pay them, we/I make a good Tune, and then they get to take it and use it however they like, yes I understand created this app, and they have the right not to allow any commercial use, okay fine.

But I am not paying anyone to make any tune or music, that is like going to a portrait studio to get a family photo and paying to get it done, while you/I take photos as the photographer stands there. Better yet, pay the mechanic to change the oil in your car but you end up doing all the work. I know these examples are very different, but the principle is the same, and this brings up another issue that is game related, actually FO3 or 4 you can not play any music from the game on YouTube or get slapped
with a copyright strike. You/I paid for it and yet we can't let the music play as the game is played, This is understandable, it's actual music created by the artists who sang them, but an app like this is not like playing copyrighted music like in FO4, its bunch of tones and sounds you/1 assemble into something worth playing or listening to.

Be it as it may this is simply to play tunes and kill time and who knows maybe even have the developers use in what they choose to use in, that is if that's an option for the Devs of this app. I was looking for a way to get some decent tunes for use on YouTube, and this is not it, there are still some online sites that have royalty-free tuns and are free.

Early Access Review
Free to play for the weekend of November 17-20 2023.
I was actually thinking of buying this and even after I went through the really poorly made tutorials, the instructions that were given vanished very quickly, you needed to be a speed reader and that is not me, and no real keyboard controls that could be used to read what did flash on the screen. I was able to get through the tutorials only because of what I learned from other steam locomotive train sims. When I tried to start a play-through, I found myself in a game world with no clue what I should do, nor where any goals were given, I still have no clue how to see the map of this train sim world, I'm done pressing keys like a clueless monkey.

While I did try what looked like a sandbox mode, the mouse controls are very erratic when trying to manipulate a simple water filler spout, I was barely able to get it in the correct location above the train, and even trying to build track was very erratic with the mouse and very few keyboard controls. I use a trackball mouse that allows me better control even when in a graphics program, but this game did not even give the option to change my mouse setting, never mind the music even when I lowered the volume setting, it was still much too loud.

I ended up searching YouTube for some kind of tutorial, I did find one from 2021, that was of very little assistance because of how the player needed to get things aligned straight, it showed to build other items only to destroy them once things looked straight, that should not have been even in 2021 and it's not looking any different now in 2023. I can understand it's in early access, but at least the controls should have been worked out by now, there are other train sims in early access that are working so much better with keyboard controls and this one can't it figured out.

The game looks nice, but that is about it, and while I can see and understand the co-op aspect of this train sim, that is the only option? The option to do co-op via Lan as well as the internet is not an option, it is only the internet and that can be laggy depending on the amount of people online. But on that same note, why must it only be online where even as a single player a server must be enabled? Why?

The biggest issue is the lack of controls, Buggy controls at that and they tend to be erratic, the concept is looking okay, but the way it's being done is not very intuitive and those who have never played any train sim will be lost and I mean completely. With ZERO direction as to what to do and what is the goal when starting even a single-player game, I had NO clue what I was expected to do, where to start, and if it was going to be a free-for-all sandbox, it was never stated one way or another.

Now if there is a goal, depending on the level that is selected, that was never stated in any way, well other than casual, that is pretty self-explanatory, but that is it and I will be uninstalling this in a few minutes, not going to spend money on this, as it is not IMHO worth it, I figured I would try and see what it's all about with the free play weekend, this did not help get me onboard, just the opposite as I stated above I had learned from playing other train sim games, so I knew what and how to get the train fueled and going. But for those who have never even tried to play a train sim game and were looking at this, they will be completely clueless.

The free play time was nice to try it out and that is it.

This is one of the worst purchase decisions I made, the only thing that I can say is I bought at an extreme discount If I could get my money back, I would but that is not likely to happen, while the option to select the screen resolution I had to henpeck my around because the buttons are off the screen, I did get it to 720p, the sound is ear bleeding loud, I was able to get it lowered but again setting it up was more of hassle, the manual is in german, so that is ZERO help. The controls are, well what controls, it crashed when I selected American, and more often than not I ended up in what looked like what is a testing area?

This Fracking Joke, Devs like this should not be allowed to sell this trash unless it's been proven to work, Maybe Steam should enact a policy where games need to pass a usability playtest, but that is not going to happen as there are so many games released on here, but this thing is not even worth plumb Penny, nevermind a nickel and for sure not what they selling it for.
I really tried to make this thing work, but no dice, I tried to remap the controls and that didn't work, While I understand it's an older game, it did not then I'm sure, and does not stand the test of time, I have some old games and they play flawlessly.

This was a simple cash grab and they care not for the players.

Question: Did I like this game, YES, I played through it twice and on the second play through the story line at the end was not left in chaos. Would I Recommend This Game: Yes I would, if you are looking for something different and with a story that is pretty good in my honest opinion. At first I was unsure of the game, would I like it, would it be good, would it be worth it, to my surprise, see above Recommendation, now you do have two different paths to take, Chaos Or Not and each will give you a very different ending. Now I don't want to spoil anything for those that have not played this game, you will have a fair amount of upgrades to your equipment that you will have to pay for as in many other games. The Good: You will find that it has elements from and with a mixture of a sort, with bullet time, (Time Shift)-For those that played that game), Teleportation-Kind of, Malee as well as a few weapons. Now the game is made so that you can't carry every weapon in the world with you, and you are limited to the amount of ammo you can carry at one time, this has it's good and not so good sides to it, but you're forced to improvise and this is what makes this game a challenge to play, can you be a ghost-well kind of that is? The Not So Good: Money in the game is a finite resource, you will have to search for it and in the most unlikely places and this is the one and only so called {CON} that I have about the game and it does force you to decide on how and where to spend your funds. And there is the lack of Gadgets! for those that have this game along with the DLC's will know what I'm talking about, but as far as I could tell, the DLC: Void Walker Arsenal is not incorporated in to the original game, now this would have been nice to have and may have made things a bit less difficult. Ammo: Yes there is ammo spread out through the game, but that too is a finite resource, there are a few places where you can buy Ammo, that is if you need to, but with limited funds, you could find you're self in a tough spot if you're planning a run and gun type of game. Now as I stated above this game has many elements that are in a way similar to many games like Splinter cell, this is where being the Ghost kind of comes in. And so you will be faced with the challenge of how to, when to, where and when to use you're weapons and the use of ammo. CON: This In my Honest Opinion, the few Maps that you do play on are a bit small and limited, now in the game itself you can open a map of the game world and it shows you where you are and where you will end up going to as each mission dictates. But there are parts of the game world you will never ever get to, as well as you can only go to the few maps that are playable, when there is a mission to go there and only then will go there. You cannot go whenever you would like to and yet the maps that you do get to play on, are open to an extent and yet the game is fairly linier. Now it's not like Crysis(2) that was more like follow the yellow brick road kind of linier, you do have several path options to complete a mission and yet your still kind of in a box sort of. There are no real side missions to speak of that you can take and in fact very few, but even those are really apart of the one main mission of the game. Short/Long Game: Well this is and will be up for many a debates as to how long and or short it is, everyone will their own opinion on this, well those that have played this game. My Honest Opinion= it was much too short, and rather than just show you the game world and only let you go to certain areas when the game / story line dictates. Well just say it would have been better if they took a little more time to add more to the game, rather than push it out the door ASAP, as well as not force you to go to different areas of the game world only when it was dictated that you go there. It would have been nice to be able to go when you wanted to and the game / story kind of starts with a cut scene / story board after just a few minutes in to the game. Will There Be Another Dishonored?: Well without giving away the ending and in short, I do not see that happening at all and or how they would be able to considering the way the game ended, In all honesty I was very disappointed at the way it ended. Worth The Sale Price?:For the low low Price that it's selling at now, I would say it's worth the Five(5) or Ten(10) Duckets as apposed to the price I paid for it + the DLC's, Yes I would get this with the DLC's for Ten(10) Duckets that is if you wish to follow the story beyond what the game is without the DLC's. This game could have been much much more than what it is, I got it because it was something different than all the FPS games, and it does have a good story that does / did engage you and yet it seemed to be rushed with the way it starts and ends, they could have made the money system much better by using side missions / quests and yes as well as having to search around as you already. I say this because with the way the character in game is set up with funds and the cost of things, it does really make things difficult / challenging. I just wanted to add this here, I have not played this game in some time and there could be updates to it, as in, incorporating one or all the DLC's in to the main game, it could be that I may be off on some aspects with the DLC's but I don't see that happening, and I could be wrong? But I guess the only way to find out is to play it again!

A Very Good game, In my opinion it could have been much more open, There was a very linear feel to it, yes you did have many ways to complete you're objectives. But the one thing that really was a kind of a let down, was the way they set up you're energy, yes you could upgrade it to max and yet once you used it all up, only one(1) square of you're energy bar would regenerate, after spending all time and effort upgrading, it would never regenerate you're entire bar. You had to have energy bars to replenish you're entire bar of energy or a giant can that you would either buy or find, now that brings me to the inventory, that to was a bit Fubarded. Yes I understand that it may have been a way to keep you from carrying to much of any one or different items so as not to give you an over powering character, I get that but really now you end up with a few items that just about fill you're inventory, depending on the version you got that gave you special weapons. Not to mention the weapons that you could loot / pick up.

And the gas grenades that you could turn in to gas mines, did they really have to take up that much space? As I stated above, the maps are not very big and even smaller when you're back in you're home sweet home town. I understand that you're on a mission and you need to complete objectives. After to a certain point in the game, you can no longer get in to you're office building, and all the riots going on, but here they could have put in a side mission to either help with riot control, or choose to escalate them. In my first play through I left items in my office, and I really needed them, but there was no way in other than to load up an earlier save and play through what I just did over again.
At this point it looks and sounds like I'm trashing the game, BY ALL MEASN NO! I am not, just a few things that I saw as things that could have been done / made differently, as I just said there could have more side missions, you already have a couple here and there and that did add to the game.

But all in all, I still like this game a lot, I have and played the first two some time ago and I was looking forward to this one very much, I even started a third play through until I had computer issues that need to be taken care of. Then a Few other games came out that I wanted to play. And I just have not gotten back to it, but I plan to and on trying for the passive play through, that is just one of reasons why there is a fair amount of replay to this game. Passive is not easy on certain portions of the game, then there is the ZERO Augment upgrade play through, now would will be a challenge. And that brings me to yet another aspect of the game, just one little mistake / or not and you will not get those achievement's and you will not know what it is that you did that should not have, Yes it's a weird glitch in the game, as I have found out from several forum post's for this game.

And yes that is very annoying to go through the entire game and not get the achievement notification and why you did not. So in a way it puts you in the position of yet another replay of the entire game, start to finish. Or just not give it another go around, but if you're in to stealthy type of game (Like Me) and not looking to go Full Rambo through out the entire game, then go for it and it all depends on how much the achievement's mean to you, for me it is more about a good story line and that actors put some kind of feeling in to the characters. When the story line is completely Fubarred and it feels like the actors for each character were just like okay lets get this over and done with, it just completely ruins what the game is all about.

And I can in my honest opinion say that for all it's little faults here and there, it's a very good game and not just the many ways you choose to play it, but the story is there and the actors did a bang up job on the characters. They really drew in to the story of the game and that it is why I give it a thumbs up Recommended to play this game.
