A mediocre RPG and a terrible atelier game. Synthesis has been reduced to hit auto synth and adjust, since the best way to max out an item is to spam whatever your best material is and, if it's equipment, change some of the items into ingots or cloth. Trait blending is an interesting experiment but ends up making trait farming worse than it was in Firis while also making material choices for synthesizing a basic numbers game as they no longer have traits assigned to them. The new particle system is actually awful, constantly saving and loading at the lighthouse to farm them because the system itself is so buggy that the geysers randomly stop spawning and the only way to fix it is to reload isn't what I would call a fun gameplay mechanic. The skill tree is back for some reason, making farming sp as much of a chore as it was in Ryza. Combat is OK but significantly easier than previous games and doesn't act as a stat check to force players to engage in synthesis. The story is fine, nothing amazing but also not terrible. The party members get introduced at a fast enough pace, so you actually get time to understand them before the final boss.


Overall, if you've played previous atelier games and liked them for their interesting/deep synthesis systems, then this game will probably disappoint you. I sincerely hope that this isn't the future of atelier.

Honestly feels like an expansion made by MegaCrit themselves.

The game does have some performance issues. For me personally I don't get any stuttering only minor hitches when the game is loading new assets. The actual content of the game is insanely good. If you can put up with performance problems and like From Software's previous titles you should pick it up. If the stutter and hitching bothers you just wait for a patch.

Played the game when it first hit game pass. Its good. You should buy it.

It's just not fun.

Its a shame a game this good has trash online.
