Valve willingly broke the game over 8 years ago with matchmaking (which coincides with the time the majority of talent left the company), and now instead of fixing things they broke with their crooked hands they're just giving up by releasing sdk.
I guess profiting from hats doesn't oblige one to actually work on a game. Valve is rotten and spoiled and needs to face a reality check, people should wake up.

This game contains Enigma DRM. It didn't have it initially, it was added via an update. There is a Quality of life fixes mod in steam workshop that downgrades the game to the version before Enigma was added, which effectively removes it, so that is a plus.
Do note that mod users can only play with other mod users.

They dropped Direct3D support. I love when 'good' and 'virtuous' companies patch games specifically to reduce the options players have. Opengl also lags on some machines

Please remove Enigma DRM. Mods are not cheats, and it's a single-player game. The justification that mods may cause you reputational damage is quite frankly insane. Bad DRM practices and anti-modding stances - that's what gives you reputational damage.

Removing chat from the old game because you can't "moderate" it is a bad practice. Cannot support that.
Good game though

Better than Doom 2016 and Eternal combined
