legit the most fun fighter I've ever played, even if it's not the most balanced or even the most functional sometimes it's by far the most fun I've ever had playing a fighter

This game had a pathetic launch and I couldn't have recommended it to anyone except the most competitive players at the time, but now that Capcom's added a cinematic story mode, combo trials, 4 more characters and the option to rematch people in Ranked and Casual, I can say it might be worth the $60. The game's not without it's flaws, though - Netcode is still worse than Street Fighter 4 and the game feels more simplistic and boring compared to nearly every other major fighting game currently out, R.Mika exists and PC players get shafted when they go to tournaments due to the 8f input lag on PS4, but it's still an excellent entry to traditional fighting games and fairly enjoyable even if you don't have any interest in taking the game super seriously.

(Killer Instinct is better tho go get it)

I really wanted to hate this game. I didn't wanna get sucked into the hype like it seemed everyone else had. But I just couldn't, the game's too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good to hate.

My first run was a neutral run, I killed a few enemies at the start, skipped any optional objectives(such as the dates with Papyrus and Undyne) and went full pacifist later on(killed Muffet though, ♥♥♥♥ spiders) and my impression of the game was decidedly "meh". Then I replayed it with the intention of getting the true ending, and absolutely fell in love with it. I noticed little things in the plot that I didn't know about on my first playthrough, I did all the dates and thoroughly enjoyed every second of them, and once I got to the true final boss and ending, my opinion of the game went from "meh" to "I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game".

I don't know if I could really say the writing and plot were the best I've ever experienced, but it's definitely up there. Undertale is simultaneously the happiest, funniest, saddest and scariest game I've ever played. The gameplay is leagues above any RPG I've played, completely abandoning traditional RPG gameplay and making every bit of the fights entirely skill-based, with the sparing mechanic adding a bit of a puzzle to every enemy.

And the music. Dear god the music. I've never bought a game's soundtrack before, but I bought this one as soon as I had the funds in my Steam wallet. The music was honestly the only reason I continued playing despite not having much of an interest in the game at first, I can't describe exactly WHY I enjoyed it so much but it's easily the best soundtrack out of any game I've played

Don't be stupid like me and let the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy fanbase turn you away from the game, it's truly a great experience despite each run only taking roughly 6 hours. The longer you wait to play it, the less you'll enjoy it as you'll inevitably have some things spoiled for you

This game is one of the most impressive games I've seen made by a single man. The main draw of the game for me was the combat system, but I ended up getting hooked by the story and exploration much more. The game is very reminiscent of old Metroid and Castlevania games, especially Metroid due to the fact that you will unlock new abilities through the game that can be used to access new areas in levels that you've already been to. There aren't an incredibly large amount of levels, but the levels still take a decent amount of time to get through and have plenty of secrets all over the place.

Back to the combat system that I said interested me before, it is very satisfying but tends to get boring quickly. I found myself just repeating the same combo over and over since there was little reason to use much else. Also, I'd highly recommend playing sidequests rather than just rushing through the main story because enemies become VERY damage-spongey if you aren't properly leveled.

Now, the story; I got quite hooked into the world this game created, despite it's somewhat childish appearance at first glance the story actually gets fairly dark at times while the writing still manages to have a good amount of humor(Mostly from your flying sidekick, Fidget). All the characters seemed well-written to me, except for the main character, Dust. Dust came off as an awfully generic reluctant hero, and what little character development he had seemed forced and out of nowhere. The voiceacting is also very good, aside from, again, Dust himself. I can't pinpoint exactly why, but Dust's voiceacting made me cringe often. A lot of people hate Fidget's voiceactor, but I found it well-done and fitting for the character.

Now, one big complaint people have about this game is the artstyle. A lot of people don't like the sort of "furry" artstyle this game has, but personally, aside from Fidget, all the characters reminded me more of something you'd see in an old Disney cartoon than something you'd see in some lonely wolf-kin's DeviantART gallery. The artwork for the levels is also VERY detailed and well-done, and the animations are very impressive as well. Except for during the cutscenes, for some reason the pre-rendered cutscenes have AWFUL animation quality at times. There were a lot of cutscenes where I wished they had just stuck with the in-game dialogue and preset animations rather than a fully rendered cutscene.

Overall, this game is absolutely fantastic, and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys those old Metroidvania-style games and people who enjoy a good story. Don't be turned away by the artstyle, I assure you there is no yiffing involved in this game. ...Just don't look up any fanart.

This game is essentially Far Cry 3 with a lot more humor, much less content and an 80s action movie theme. If you can't afford Far Cry 3 I would highly recommend this, if you already own Far Cry 3 and have done pretty much everything in it this is a must-buy.

There is still the issue of Uplay though and if you refuse to get the game on that premise alone I can't blame you
