Unlike the imperialist nations, Botswana's growth hasn't relied on exploitation. Even in the early years after independence, it didn't cut schools or healthcare, and no one starved or became homeless. Despite being one of the poorest in Southern Africa before independence, Botswana now has a ‘high’ HDI index of 0.72, reducing poverty to under 20%. Its healthcare system has made strides, particularly in combating HIV/AIDS. If you want to compare, look at Zimbabwe, where the economy has shrunk annually by -3.2%. Botswana's challenges, like unemployment and reliance on diamond exports, would be less severe without external pressures. To claim Botswana is stagnant is simply absurd.
