Relaxing and interesting. I haven't played a progressive game like this, it's kind of auto-balancing due to you being able to level up until you can beat a level, pretty clever design and still satisfying to plop in upgrades.

I spent most my time in it listening to an audio book, and funny enough using Index controllers with an overlay aligned to my monitor to play it from across the room, haha. A wireless mouse could also have worked but did not have that connected at the moment, and this was a fun way to play it.

It does actually have an end, so that's something.

Alright, yeah I should review this, as I've gotten all (current) achievements. I've used this as a brain-dead activity while listening to audio books, thus how I've racked up 97 hours and gotten said achievements. This genre is the perfect solution to audio books when I otherwise only listen when doing chores or out and walking, which is not as enjoyable during this season. So yes, recommended if you need something that does not require more than 12 IQ. Well curated challenges and unlocks, so many unlocks, it kept my distracted interest.

Enjoyable puzzler, I like the theme, adore the music, the mechanics are interesting, good game modes that provide variety in gameplay. Only complaint would be the clunky camera controls when playing on the Steam Deck, mostly noticeable as the camera resets more often than I'd like.

Currently my GOTY, yeah not just VR GOTY, just GOTY. Why?

1. The most natural and convincing swimming mechanic I've ever experienced in VR. It's something I want to see in every other game that has swimming, like, yesterday.
   
2. A great soundscape, no music mind you, but always ambient noises that makes the world feel alive.
   
3. On that topic, the animals, all the animals and I guess plants. The animation system is brilliant, they feel solid, you can push them, they react to your proximity, probably the best animals I've experienced in VR.
   
4. Right this is what people first see, it looks great. The water shader when you break the surface, the refracted light that plays over everything, it's a visually pleasing and polished title.
   
5. Relaxing but still a surprising amount of things to do, I decided to 100% the game so it took me 17½ hours. I can tell you that you don't need to find all coins to buy all upgrades, you get 10 spares.
   
6. Oh yeah, the hook that usually grabs me, unlocks and progression. You get to find or unlock a range of tools and equipment that gives you better mobility and more abilities. Way more things than I anticipated.
   
7. The range of levels, I thought the game would be possibly half the size of what it actually was. I was positively surprised how much real estate this game shipped with.

I can only hope that this game is successful enough that it will motivate making more content for it, can even be DLC, I'd pay a reasonable amount for that.

I've kind of wanted something like this for quite some time. I doodled with model trains as a kid, like Merklin model Z or whatever, and this is basically that but without the heavy investment! 😃

At launch the game felt like it ended when it got as most interesting, the 10 level campaign is basically a drawn out tutorial, and then the final level in the game feels like the real deal, a big level with challenging things to accomplish. 😗

LUCKILY, they pushed a free update that adds 12 more levels like the last one! Exactly what I wanted, and that more than doubles the content of the game as well, which is ridiculous for a free update! Much appreciated and certainly will extend my playtime by a multiple 😁 Good times!

Edit: Can report that the challenge levels extended the game by +200%, at least for me 🤣👍 And they get quite challenging indeed!

Feedback to devs:
1. The biggest wish I have right now, is if I could move the book by grasping it, the Grab input for Index controllers, instead of using the trigger. This as I keep picking pieces when I intend to move the book. Maybe I can rebind this on my own, not sure, will check later. Edit: Alternatively, allow me to attach the book to one of my hands.
2. I have missed which pieces were unlocked, as the book has everything in the same color scheme as the locked buttons. I believe having the icons filled in and/or with a faint background color depending on the category could be one option to make it more apparent, and help with distinction! This is just my unsolicited feedback though.
3. A train speedup, on the bigger levels it takes forever for it to traverse the whole thing so I barely ever let it actually run the whole track.

This will murder your legs, well it did mine, I hope for zombie legs in the morning. Good times!
