Not a bad HOG. Gets a little repetitive towards the end, and the bonus chapter is forgettable.

Without this DLC, you'll never realize how incompetent the AI is. This DLC simultaneously feels necessary to flesh out the game, yet also reveals all of its worst weaknesses. If you appreciate the mechanics of how games work or don't work, it's worth it for that alone.

Very limited as far as campaign options. Pretty samey. It's a cool idea, but the execution is so generic there's no real saving it from being something you play for a few hours now and then but never really get addicted to. That said, it's cheap. Pick it up on sale if you want a performant little strategy game that isn't too complex but also isn't too simple.

It thinks it's a lot cooler than it actually is.

Tentative recommendation. It runs well and has the bones of a good PDX game, just realize it's thin on content and the interface is weird. This is usually sorted in the first couple patches of any Paradox title.

Rough around the edges, bad voice acting, character models look incredibly stupid, forced diversity, and a limited selection of ships. However, that being said, what we do have is the start of a decent ship simulator after years of no such thing.

- The open world feels big but not too big (the ships move pretty slow all things considered, so it takes a while to go anywhere)
- The graphics are good enough (the waves the ship leaves in its wake are probably the worst thing besides the grainy shadows and awful character models)
- Engine maintenance minigames feel really annoying
- Crew management feels very arcade-y
- Missions aren't bad at all, think like the jobs in Euro/American Truck Simulator (there is no "freeplay" so you can't just roam around aimlessly)
- UI is big and clunky, feels like it was designed for a console and I hate that in a PC game

I look forward to further development. Hopefully this game has a long life ahead of it.

Based dev is making this free. I never minded paying for it.
