Having played this game as one of the first games i owned on steam, it holds a sentimental value. The game itself is a story of magic, monsters and everything inbetween. It has a unique combat system which is changed in the second game of the series, The combat makes the game hard to get into as it is completely different to any game i have ever played. The story follows a Witcher by the name of Geralt of Rivia who was apparently a world-renowed Witcher who has no recollection of events of the past, 5 years have passed since Geralt was murdered in front of all his friends, you pick up the story in chase of bandits who attempt to control the province of Temaria by stealing the Witchers secrets, you aim to bring them down, for your own goals, not the kingdoms.

The story is a complete shade of grey, there is no right or wrong. Witchers are famed for their neutrallity, will you keep to this or favor the downtrodden rebels, the Scoia'tael, who fight for equality for non-humans through butchery and murder or the Order who hate non-humans and seek to purge them from the world. The choice is in your hands, you can't remain neutral forever (or can you...?)

The Game is highly worth a play, its less than £2.00 every steam sale and its sequel for £4.00, you are silly if you do not buy it as it one of the best RPG's out there. Kudos to CD Projekt (the creators) for creating a game with this much depth and closeness to the books by Andrzej Sapkowski.

It may take a while to get into but once you are past the clunkiness of the game itself, you will owe the game merit and love it, should you enjoy RPG's.
