Went into it with the expectation of SH2 remake and something similar to SOMA and was not disappointed. The story was great, the limited ammo felt deliberate and every shot counting really upped the ante. I found myself enjoying it not as much as Dead Space but I'd say just under that threshold if you enjoy Dead Space.
A few parts left me frustrated due to some kiting issues on my end but overall I'd give it a solid 7.5/10.
The story kept me playing more and more.

Like POE1, except it's worse with a 20+ hour campaign with no movement planned and a dry endgame.
Just go play POE1.

I too was on the fence, I bought it anyways, by the steam gods I really enjoy it.
If you like parrying as well as playing Sekiro/Lies of P levels of difficulty, amazing game.
If you like exploring and really enjoy getting rewarded for it with gear/hidden zones, you will enjoy this even more.
If you like speedmapping in POE and Diablo, you will hate this game.
Fodder mobs are no joke, every fight is somewhat tact and you need to dodge/evade as well as land your hits/parries.
I killed the first major boss (3 hours, I explore a lot) with some dual daggers I found right at the beginning, first try.

Just needs optimization.

One of my favorite MMOs to date. I haven't played much since release but I played a ton of beta.
My biggest word of advice: Understand it is a full loot PVP game. People DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THEIR THINGS. SO THEY WILL KILL FIRST IF GIVEN THE CHANCE.
You buy the game WITH THAT UNDERSTANDING AS IT TELLS YOU MULTIPLE TIMES.
It's heavily politicized, join a guild, I don't care if you're solo. You'll only get protection by joining a guild with a good or friendly standing.
9 times out of 10 people will run up on you, see your guild, and leave you the hell alone.
I've had as much fun on this as I had on WoW BC days. It's very fun, very complex, and the combat is engaging. No mashing skills as they flash upon your screen, no skill rotations, actual paying attention and skills.
Make money and train however you want.
Create your own adventure.
The PvP is extremely rewarding even if I sucked at it.
Doing cross map excursions to get recipes and farm areas that are dangerous is extremely living-on-the-edge type of fun.
if you don't like PVP, simply DO NOT buy the game.
I'm so tired of review bombs saying the same bullsh*t all the time.
"Oh I'm getting gangbanged."
"I'm solo and X Y Z excuse I get PK'd"
Yes, you're a threat, all the time.
Don't play if you hate full loot PVP.
Play it if you do.

Rust. Where do I begin, I've had it since the beginning stages and every branch where the game was completely overhauled several times.
Is it good? No. It's great.
The sweat beading off of your forehead, slowly trickling down your chin as your inventory of raw materials stares at you menacingly- knowing damn well they're ready to hop inventories at the drop of a single bullet. That satisfying crunch of a well placed headshot- as you once were monke with rock now you're piling bodies upon bodies atop a base that doesn't belong to you. The screams of unloved children fill your $300 gaming headset with slurs among other derogatory terms. You smile knowing that a well placed C4 will inevitably prevent them from ever sleeping sound at night when they finally get screamed at by their parents to turn off their video game to get up early for school tomorrow.
Instead of sorrow and dread- the piles of once were fully geared players now down to bare monke once again.
What's that?
Someone had snuck in behind you among the hellfire you rained upon these poor creatures.
You hear a crack and your screen goes dark once again-
All that's available is a random respawn button as while you were out denying anyone of fun someone had raided you.
You click it out of anger.
All you witness in your once vast inventory is now nulled down to a rock.

I play Rust, Minecraft, tons of FPS and ARPGs and whatnot.
This game I end up coming back to just to crunch in a few more hours. At first when I bought it I was insanely disappointed on how clunky it looked and goofy the characters/animations were. But this game honestly doesn't really need polished. For what you get at the price tag it's a 100+ Hour game as it sits. I ended up loving its silly animations and thoroughly enjoy playing this with friends. Screaming at 2am with my cousin because a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ animated zombie just fell from the ceiling while we're out of meds and swinging with no stamina. It's good.

Don't get attached.
