It's a wonderful addition to the Fallout franchise, despite it recycling the same engine as Fallout 3. That isn't a complaint, nor does it take away from the game to me, it just seems to be a common complaint amongst the community and I can't understand why. If you make better use of what you already have, isn't that a good thing?

I'm partial to lever-action weapons and guns that can blast an enemy into chunks, mist, or paste, and this game managed to acheive two out of those three. The survival mode in this game is challenging but immersive, and it makes you really watch what resources you find necessary when venturing out to quest, explore, or prospect for some good loot.

All in all, if you somehow haven't played this game, pick it up with the DLC and have yourself some fun being a recluse for the next two or three weeks. There's always something you missed, so take your time and stay hydrated in the Mojave, amigos.

It may not have much visual appeal and it can seem incredibly boring at first, but if you can give it a little bit of time you'll find that there's an incredible survival game in there. Though a little complex with crafting, I appreciate the game making me spend my experience wisely.
