Hello, I recently purchase the SC4 during steam sale, only to find out that the game doesn't what to work with my machine. Was wondering if there was anyone here that can help me solve my problem with SC4.(Having trouble with the forums). So I am having a common issue with the CTD that many ppl seem to have, except the way they solved their problem doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried many different cmmds in the shortcut, compatibility(xpsp2, or xpsp3), adding video card #&name, etc. The closest i have come to actually being able to play the game was when i put in this particular cmmd(C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c START "high priority sc4" /high/affinity 1 "C:\Program Files (86x)\steam\steamapps\common\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" /d -CustomResolution:enabled -r1980x1080 -intro:off) I was able to get to the start meun =) . So yea thanks a ton for taking the time and reading my problem

Can someone help me! i have recently purchased sim city 4 deluxe via steam, it successfully downloaded but whenever i try and start it up it says its not available on my current platform? what does this mean? any assistance would be much appreciated.

Make the center area in the Region your main commercial hub. All other areas are residential and all outer areas are industrial. Keep industry near water so ships can take goods. Have plenty of highways and avenues so not to get massive congestion. Start with the mid areas, the residential zones.

Run in Compatability for XP and save often!

Would you mind showing me a screenshot of your city? I am trying to build a new city, but I don't know how to design by city, so that it actually looks like a metropolis.

Use to play this game all the time, had a region with 2.6 million people. Starting again now....

The crashes are pretty bad for SimCity 4 Deluxe. What I would do is make sure your game is fully patched, your plugins are in order and not conflicting and try not to zoom in and out too much. Works for me!
