The MP missions I had downloaded previously are not showing up in-game. I'm checking the problem now, so hold an extra five mins. If I can't find the solution, then I'll just play like normal. Appreciated you waiting, everyone
Anyway, I'm thinking that the best time for most people here seems to be Sunday. A quick look at the online list for memebers here semi-confirms that, so the match will be set for THIS Sunday, at 19:00pm (GMT -- London time). Co-op is the focus and I encourage everyone to send me any particular map they want played, provided it does not have mod requirements.
More details in annoucement.
Cheers,
Dex
There may be a game being held sometime between Friday to Sunday this week. The focus of the game, as was it last time, will be on co-op missions. This time, however, let's try and see if we can up the number of players in the match to at least ten. We had six last time, so ten is only four more and seeing as the game was so fun last time, those who help us reach that little goal are definitely going to enjoy themselves during the session, anyway.
Cheers,
Dex
Also, please make sure to install this program (you'll need an account for it, which you can also create at the site, free of charge): http://www.tunngle.net/#downloads
Last but not least, please make sure to disable/uninstall any mods you have for ARMA II so that there are no compatibility issues between players and the host server.
Cheers,
Dex
Thanks to those valiant heroes that tried everything in their power to get Cirius the Inexperienced home for tea. Alas, it was not to be, and I got nailed from behind after a couple of minutes.
But anything was better than the first attempt, which saw our valiant heroes diced one by one within seconds of stepping off that chopper.
Here's hoping the rest of you made it home.
THIS is ONE. EVERYONE is DOWN. Bugger.
Next thing we gotta do is develop our `tactics` a bit, but only by a bit because we're not a `hardcore ex-Nam vet` group. Take turns in lead and as different roles. Also, if you've got a mic, remember to plug it in so that we can use it for voc-com (Voice Communication - longhand) and dish out the responses/orders efficiently.
If you did, you (and of course, the rest of us) would need a good few missions to run and the we'd to decide the maps we'd play, modes, that kind of thing.
Does Jolt still do servers?
I'm prepared to rent us a server, (provided people want to play :P) but I can't find any that are based in the UK, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this?
I don't mind renting a server as long as we have fun:)
And yes, every single Internet game at the time that we played was modded to hell and just plain unplayable if you hadn't put a bit of time into learning the rules and functionality. So irritating...
You going to be able to make for the next event, Titan?
Even so, it was still a hellva lot of fun. I enjoyed it, even with the amount lag fails present and the fact that we all had join onto Hamachi in order to actually play a coherrent game. Hey... hang on a sec! I didn't even get into that successfully! And a few other guys didn't either!
Apart from my bickerish attitude, it was a pretty decent way to waste time. Hopefully we can get something sorted out better for next time...
Maybe we should play public for the first little while? Just to get to know each other a bit better and start to play each other as a team a bit more and thingsss :)
Second step would be to decide whether we're playing public or private. For the weekend game, it'd be best for it to be private to us in the group and for every other time it'll be dependent on what the people online feel like.
Third and final step is what game type and map we'll be playing. I would say for private games, we should use our own maps, well-made community ones and possibly the standard maps packaged with the game/patches. For public, whatever goes, as there's a crudton of modified servers out there with a lot of them having impractical rules.
What do you guys think?
