So, this is dead? Wow.
J. Robert Helldiver 12 Jul, 2016 @ 12:50pm
Goodbye, warflak. ._.
warflak 12 Jul, 2016 @ 10:13am
As a final post before I go, it's been a daunting endeavor and I'm glad to have known you people. Now the road branches, one can merge with the fury of... Project Fury,or one can join my group in polishing and fixing a old classic. Thr choice is yours to make. Farewell to you all.
warflak 12 Jul, 2016 @ 9:20am
http://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/groups/bf1942crp i've created a group meant to revive the bf1942 community. if anyone wants to help, they may join.
warflak 12 Jul, 2016 @ 9:00am
It's not fair you have to do everything, but I personally am in lottle position to help, and pretty much everyone else who might have a skill won't speak up. Project Fury is ahead of us by months. At this point,if something doesn't actually start, this group may as well be fused with them or made to join my own people.
warflak 12 Jul, 2016 @ 8:57am
I've started to actually put my time to use,you know. Crazy thing is once,i thought we could bring back battlefield p4f. They finished operation road rage and would have probably released it shortly after if they hadnt cancelled all production.
warflak 12 Jul, 2016 @ 8:56am
We just aren't doing anything anymore.
J. Robert Helldiver 12 Jul, 2016 @ 12:36am
Well, I guess you're right, warflak. I still have P4F installed on my PC, all the sounds, meshes, textures, everything.
warflak 11 Jul, 2016 @ 9:55pm
1942mods.com and {LINK REMOVED} have legitimate versions of BF1942 and BF2 respectively. Sadly, this community seems to have died off. I'm trying to revive a new one. If you are interested in this new endeavor, contact me for details.
J. Robert Helldiver 16 Apr, 2016 @ 3:10am
Seems like it.
warflak 15 Apr, 2016 @ 9:04pm
Hey speaking of,guys...are we in development hell?
warflak 15 Apr, 2016 @ 1:16pm
Anyhow,I checked out the tools and they're extensive as hell. We could make models AND maps detailed as hell.
warflak 15 Apr, 2016 @ 1:15pm
I mean VR is challenging enough as it is,how we going to implement it in a fps? The Brookhaven Experiment is one with a single gun,but like its difficult.
J. Robert Helldiver 15 Apr, 2016 @ 5:28am
Oh, I see. Well I don't know about Real Virtuality. Frankly, this is the first time I heard about it. :)
And yes, VR would be a task I'd consider if we had a real dev team, and not just one lazy guy; namely: me.
TomikaArome 14 Apr, 2016 @ 3:14pm
VR would be amazing though, but I very much doubt a small team of devs would ever take on such a demanding feature :s
warflak 14 Apr, 2016 @ 1:25pm
I mean how're we going to make this thing VR?
warflak 14 Apr, 2016 @ 1:25pm
Not VR,Real Virtuality. The arma engine. It would add some more realism. Also,as I said, project reality got a version for arma 2.
J. Robert Helldiver 14 Apr, 2016 @ 6:28am
I haven't been working extensively with the Source Engine so far, but I guess there are some tutorials out there. Virtual Reality should not be top priority (if there's ever something like 'development')
warflak 13 Apr, 2016 @ 8:31pm
Also another suggestion is using real virtuality? I'm very familiar with it and project reality team made a arma 2 version.
warflak 13 Apr, 2016 @ 8:30pm
Hey,I had a question about the source engine? I've used the sdk sparingly but I've got no clue how to like create stuff. What did you do?
J. Robert Helldiver 8 Apr, 2016 @ 4:31am
Yeah, that's what I was talking about. There are some people willing to help, but that doesn't mean that they actually do have the time or skills required to help. It's not the lack of interest that makes this project die ... just the neglect. Even from me. I just don't feel like working on it alone.
warflak 7 Apr, 2016 @ 11:21pm
Been nearly a month. The Source SDK was kind of weird to work with. Anyway, our peers at Project Fury have managed to make some progress in weapon models and maps. At the rate this thing slowed down,we'll have to figure something out sometime soon. We also should try and see who is actually doing things? We'll need some people who,y'know are actually contributing to a extent to the project
TomikaArome 9 Mar, 2016 @ 3:55am
My site doesn't have much of a purpose. I use it to practice and might use it in the future as a sort of blog type thing if I'm ever bothered about doing that sort of thing.
warflak 8 Mar, 2016 @ 5:15pm
Learn to code. http://imgur.com/gallery/VuKnN5P
I thought to share this. I'll give it a look and it may help others.
warflak 8 Mar, 2016 @ 3:18pm
Out of curiosity what exactly is your website about? All you got is two posts and a quite entertaining replica of solitarie.
TomikaArome 8 Mar, 2016 @ 12:35pm
Alright, I'm subscribed to the comment thread here now (thought I was already). If I find the time I'll get a little more into C++ and try out an engine. Doesn't matter which, I'm unfamiliar with both (though I already have UE4 installed). No promises though, I'm more inspired developing my website these days.
warflak 8 Mar, 2016 @ 9:55am
Well I'm glad I got tommys attention. Also as I stated before, you need to get the community involved. As far as I know, you only released updates for the people here. We never really got a chance to actively participate. I have voiced this a few times now,so it shouldn't be new. Having the community to help us out will assist. And yes Tommy, this will be a challenge, but it's possible. GoldenEye was done with 8 people of which 6 never had worked with games. We have 100. We can succeed,we only need to double down.
J. Robert Helldiver 8 Mar, 2016 @ 9:41am
Good to see you, Tommy.
So - the current release of UE4 won't let me open the map (it does open a map, but all there is is a table and two chairs, some sky-lighting and that's it.)
Anyway, if we were to create the game with the Source Engine it wouldn't matter either way, and I think there are more people who know how to work with it than with UE4. P4F didn't stand out for its realistic look either.

Any other opinions? Otherwise I'll just accept this idea and get SDK.
TomikaArome 8 Mar, 2016 @ 8:49am
"Come back to the GW:Assault,Tommy."

I never left. Nothing's happening here and there's no one I can exchange ideas on how we're going to go about programming the game.

And remember: I've only done a tiny bit of C++ but I've never been bothered at settling down to understand the UE4 engine or any other library for that matter. I'm not entirely sure how tricky making this game will be but I can see it being quite a challenge that I'm not sure I'm up to yet.

Also: stop fighting. I'm offering whatever help I can to either project but I'm not going to contribute if all that's going on in the steam groups is whining and complaining.
warflak 7 Mar, 2016 @ 7:12pm
Also, try to get back into contact with Tommy and pardus,or just let me help out more! This community needs to be more active and I'm trying to help make that happen.
warflak 7 Mar, 2016 @ 11:05am
Huh. That's not half bad. I'm trying to conserve memory and I already have the sdk installed. I just need to understand how to use it.
J. Robert Helldiver 7 Mar, 2016 @ 10:21am
I'm going to reinstall Unreal Engine and check if the map is compatible. :)

I thought about something else, however.
What if I/we created the game on Steam's source engine? It would make greenlighting the game easier, the whole process of texturing and building would be easier, too and it would generally speed up the process. It's not about the looks, right? And I think most of the things I want to do are possible with the Source engine. Besides, it doesn't even look too bad.
Just want some opinions here.
warflak 7 Mar, 2016 @ 8:07am
322,5 that do anything?
warflak 7 Mar, 2016 @ 8:06am
Okay, I'm going to go right out and say it. How many of your people are actually active?
Pro-Soldier 7 Mar, 2016 @ 6:47am
"And please stop preaching about another project that has less people in its group"

man, you dont know?! Project Fury created a second group cuz the first group needed to change the title and description and thats not possible, only way to do that is with a new group. the old group has 322 members. so retract your false statement sir.

Also Project Fury has over 1k members else where like Facebook etc.

Though its good to see some response from this group :steamhappy:
warflak 6 Mar, 2016 @ 7:37pm
Is there any way we can see the map you've finished? I'd like to have a idea of what we're doing, so maybe others can assist.
J. Robert Helldiver 6 Mar, 2016 @ 11:09am
I can imagine, warflak. :)

Hello. :D
INFLL PrudentPanic14 6 Mar, 2016 @ 8:56am
hi
warflak 6 Mar, 2016 @ 8:41am
You have no idea how glad I am.
J. Robert Helldiver 6 Mar, 2016 @ 2:52am
Alright you guys, stop it.

This project isn't dead, it's in a coma and I won't wake it up as long as I'm the only one working on it. I've barely created one map, and that's it. No animations, no programming, just a map.
I'll reconsider the kickstarter campaign, but I'll want to show off what we're doing, or else people won't be interested for long and they probably won't fund us either.
Founding my own indie-studio sounds vague, either, so I'll put that idea to a rest.

And please stop preaching about another project that has less people in its group.. I bet you haven't come any further than I did.

Pro-Soldier 25 Feb, 2016 @ 10:30pm

m8, that sounds like you have some kind of U problems, you need to get your head examined asap. you're a lil butthurt because you are looking bad here. thats all!
