@Zloty_Diament Thanks for informing me 3 years later 👍
Zloty_Diament (Golden_Diamond) 9 Jul, 2020 @ 5:46pm
You've a history of quite some false accusations and going after decent games.

the good fight is never over till people give up, so we havent lost we just have to keep fighting to clean up the store and keep the pressure on till valve actually does something.
plus many games still get removed over time for being truely bad games...
not only that remember changes which hit valve are do to the communitys.
like no instant cards for new games

We lost, basicly everything is allowed from this point on.... =(
LotarWc2 24 Apr, 2018 @ 6:40pm
We lost - Greenlight gone.
Direct is much worse.
The Lamb (real) 24 Apr, 2018 @ 11:08am
I guess we won. Greenlights gone.
DaveQB 12 Jun, 2017 @ 11:06pm
They've greenlit a further batch - at last, Distortions is in it, as they are a few other titles it'd have been absurd to not let pass compared to some piles of manure that already did. It almost looks like they greenlit the worst-looking submissions more quickly.

I'd be curious to know if these are really the last games that will come out of Greenlight, or if Valve's reviewing is going on beyond Direct's launch. I also wonder if Direct will be "assaulted" upon opening and experience some crash.
tikiman572 12 Jun, 2017 @ 6:13pm
Jiba, thanks for having an exact number of how many titles had been Greenlit prior to Greenlight's demise. I was able to send that info to Jim Sterling who was able to use it in his video today that covered Greenlight's death. At the very least, we were able to expose the BS Valve was pulling in regards to letting blatant ♥♥♥♥ on to the storefront to a much wider audience thanks to him and your exact numbers.

So thanks again, man.
JibaNyarth 12 Jun, 2017 @ 3:52pm
I know it's rather inappropriate to talk about Greenlight again but I like how the first four row of submissions seems to be getting up to 400+ comments in the last week. It's really quite amazing.

This will probably be the last legitimate comment ever made on this group, I feel.
DeltaDude 12 Jun, 2017 @ 3:27pm
Greenlight sits on death row, while it recieved the death sentence long ago, it refuses to perish in entirety.
Despiseusername 12 Jun, 2017 @ 11:03am
supposed to have been liquid days ago yet valve is approving one game per developer cough cough.
JibaNyarth 12 Jun, 2017 @ 10:53am
But isn't Greenlight supposed to be completely liquidised in a few hours?
Jeffman12 12 Jun, 2017 @ 10:37am
WON'T ANYONE THINK OF POOR FATFLY!?
Despiseusername 12 Jun, 2017 @ 10:18am
considering how many titles have been greenlight so steam doesn't have to do refunds of the 100 dollars that title will be likely greenlit in the coming week or two.
DaveQB 12 Jun, 2017 @ 9:26am
I decided to wait some time and give some benefit of the doubt, but Valve's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is more and more evident.
http://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=931035719
Tell me a single reason why this game shouldn't be greenlit, especially in comparison with many other games that already are.
R3ap4r (m4cr0h4rd) 12 Jun, 2017 @ 8:53am
While Greenlight is dead, it's far from over.
My focus has been shifted to the store and it's bad actors.
See you all in the SOS group and take care :)
Despiseusername 12 Jun, 2017 @ 8:16am
latest jim sterling video has him praising the group and mellow online.
tikiman572 10 Jun, 2017 @ 9:09am
Well, at least we were spared that, because seeing how ♥♥♥♥ is going right now, I'd actually have bet substantial money on it getting through were it still in the queue.

Though with what we've seen thus far, I'm also going to state the obvious that with most of the ♥♥♥♥ that went through at Valve's handpicked discretion, I'm going to bet money that when Direct launches proper, Fatfly is gonna use that to get his ♥♥♥♥ on to the storefront and that Valve won't try and stop it, even though his toxic behavior is WELL documented at this point by us, Jim Sterling, and many others.

So really, I think the inevitable has only been delayed at this point, sadly.
ಠ_ಠ Exil 10 Jun, 2017 @ 9:01am
Shooter Tactics (Kill the Trolls) was removed from the Greenlight. Don't know if Valve did it (very unlikely) or the author removed it himself (most likely)
tikiman572 10 Jun, 2017 @ 8:45am
The only thing that could make this worse, guys, is if Shooter Tactics gets Greenlit (is it, in any of its forms, currently on Greenlight right now?).

That'll be the nail in the coffin that seals Direct's fate utterly.
ಠ_ಠ Exil 10 Jun, 2017 @ 5:55am
Well, I'm now certain that Direct will be flooded with idiotic ♥♥♥♥. I'm certain that the guys who volunteer to curate this new tide of ♥♥♥♥ will have their work cut out for them ...
Michel Baie 10 Jun, 2017 @ 4:40am
Valve really doesn't want to refund idiots.

So here's Chidonkai's greenlighted game.

http://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=467775431

Sadly it's not a chipsse solid one.
ಠ_ಠ Exil 9 Jun, 2017 @ 12:49am
Are you kidding me? They greenlight a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Unity tutorial? I guess I should have been an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and just posted my unfinished project because it looks like no one at Valve knows anymore what a game looks like.
tikiman572 8 Jun, 2017 @ 4:20pm
Agreed, shade. ♥♥♥♥ like this getting through is NOT inspiring confidence for Direct, even with good titles like the Underground King getting pushed through.

Mellow, what are your thoughts on all this?
Michel Baie 8 Jun, 2017 @ 4:13pm
http://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=939280588

If you ever used Unity, you made this game.

And it took you an afternoon. Tops.
shade00 8 Jun, 2017 @ 3:03pm
seriously whos picking them? thats what id like to know

Helluva choice for a Steam worthy game there, Valve. Real top notch ♥♥♥♥ we got here.
shade00 8 Jun, 2017 @ 2:37pm
wow o-o possible the one as its f2p, but then again who knows.
plus they could also change to paid possibly.

That new Bubsy game may end up awful like Bubsy 3D was (the first two were merely mediocre), or may be decent, who knows? I honestly don't see it as *the* sign of what will come. We are used to much, much worse.
JibaNyarth 8 Jun, 2017 @ 1:52pm
Well, it looks okay, I guess? Well, the first 2 games were already released as a two-pack on Steam, with surprisingly positive reception. Though most of them seem to only like Bubsy due to his past notoriety status, so take that as you will.

On another note, the total number of approved submissions grew to 14660 games. You can definitely see that Valve is cherry picking the best of the best here.
tikiman572 8 Jun, 2017 @ 1:42pm
Ok guys, not exactly our neck of the woods, but if this isn't an omen of things to come, I don't know what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is:

http://kotaku.com/nobody-wanted-this-but-bubsy-is-officially-coming-back-1795936667
tikiman572 8 Jun, 2017 @ 10:31am
Well, that's a lot lower than I had thought originally, but still quite bad nonetheless.

Like I said, this makes me hesitant to believe in Direct's efficacy if they were able to look at easily identifiable ♥♥♥♥ and go, "Sounds good to me!"

Hey Mellow, I know you got somewhat of a line directly to some Valve moderators. Think you can ask some questions so we can get a better idea what's going on here?
JibaNyarth 8 Jun, 2017 @ 9:36am
I actually had a old tab of Greenlight open (back when the submission pipelines was still open) and it had a total of 12910 approved submissions.

Now, the total rose up by 13855 at the time of me writing this. That's 945 more games added to the pile, and I only saw maybe one or two games that are actually good on the first page.

Yeah, I'm sure you can get the picture from that.
tikiman572 8 Jun, 2017 @ 8:34am
I have a bit of a photographic memory. I remember the number prior to Greenlight's closure being around... 12130 or so, give or take.

I didn't go through the full list of Greenlit games because I know that even if it is RECENTLY Greenlit it won't immediately show up at Page 1 and such. Not sure what the system is that determines where they show up but this surge of titles that were chosen are scattered ALL throughout the list. This unfortunately makes it difficult to pick up the drek.
DaveQB 8 Jun, 2017 @ 12:11am
I want to give some benefit of the doubt and I'll wait a few days to see more batches of greenlit stuff, and rather than clutter the comments I'll make a discussion, but in the meantime, notice these.

Horrible art: greenlit

http://eo.steamhost.cc/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=935132687
Blatantly sexual but employing a capable artist: not greenlit

Of course, the real reason may be that the latter has so much sexual content it can't be admitted on Steam even in censored form, but doesn't change the fact that Valve seem to admit basically any VN.

Also, something strange is going under Valve's announcement. Most of the latest comments are of the spam/troll type and are too close to each othger to not think some group of people are intentionally doing that, but for what reason I don't know.
DaveQB 7 Jun, 2017 @ 10:43pm
A few games I'm glad they have passed, a lot of dreck, and no Distortions? I hope it's just a matter of some more time for reviewing the entries because if they skipped that one in favor of stuff like Lone... *puke*
I think I'll have some fun posting what has passed.
shade00 7 Jun, 2017 @ 8:50pm

not sure if the frontpage greenlight stopped updateing or what
tikiman572 7 Jun, 2017 @ 7:26pm
You guys may want to check the Greenlit tab. Not the actual queue proper but games that have been passed through Greenlight. Seems Valve has gone through and let a bunch of the games that were currently on Greenlight through. And unfortunately, a lot of ♥♥♥♥ was chosen, by Valve themselves, to be let in. Up to, and including, stock asset RPG Maker games AND yet another Ultimate Survival asset flip.

To say I'm concerned for Direct when they, themselves, looked at easy to identify drek and thought, "Ok, that's good," is an understatement.
Michel Baie 7 Jun, 2017 @ 9:09am
I talked to him multiple times - heck, he often noticed me he added stuff on his games.

If he really didn't cared at at, he wouldn't be updating his other game from time to time.
Sure, quite a bit of the updates are the happy consequence of the asset pack getting updated but still, he does take the time to do it.

I don't mean he's good at what he does.
But he try to do it anyway.
Drakulas 7 Jun, 2017 @ 3:35am
From what I've experienced of that guy I don't believe he's trying. He has a history of using booster groups, trying to green light asset packs, censorship....

Given this guy's record I have no hope of him making any significant improvements on his games or his success as a game developer.
HellCow (DannyDOA) 6 Jun, 2017 @ 10:12pm
@Hibachi IF that guy is trying he will make updates on the game and it will become better and then many people will rechange their minds but i think he released it a bit too early on steam it shoud had waited still a bit on greenlight.
Michel Baie 6 Jun, 2017 @ 12:47pm
Yeah, this one.

Actually it's more sad than funny when you think about it.
Because beleive it or not this guy is actually trying.

... no, really.

I wonder how many of this kind of guys we're going to see with Direct ?
The non cynical, non agressive, still censoring comments sometimes, delusional type ?
HellCow (DannyDOA) 6 Jun, 2017 @ 12:42pm
@Hibachi you mean this masterpiece: http://eo.steamhost.cc/app/608580/Empires/ ? xD I woud really want to play it and make it the Year of The game tbh just look how original. Such an insane story and graphics 10/10 woud play again. Maybe the video is getting me wrong but its a no no xD
Michel Baie 6 Jun, 2017 @ 12:36pm
About the process of them looking at the games going on the store and their pages, it's true since a good while. And they actually check stuff like controller support if you claim your game is supporting controllers.

At least for the release.

And it didn't stopped masterpieces like Empires to get on the store.
DaveQB 6 Jun, 2017 @ 12:35pm
Ah, should have read that passage in its entirety, thanks. I'm confident those games will make it.
HellCow (DannyDOA) 6 Jun, 2017 @ 12:33pm
This process might get rushed becouse they have so many games to review in so short ammount of time that we might get some bad games or games that were really good but didnt get greenlight becouse it didnt maybe like the Devs or it didnt meet the Yes votes required.
