Well it appears its going to happen. I'm excited just for the fact that Steamworks is coming to PS3. What it permit's doesn't matter to me. The fact that Valve is taking a huge step in the direction of Sony is what matters.

You have to think from both sides. Like the Mac release, Steam (valve) is not charging anyone to make the swap. If you have HL, etc on the PC side, you have it on the mac side. One plus is all the $$$ Valve will make from all the people that have PS3's and no gaming computer. Lots of $$$...

And don't be dumb either, include FULL support for games (mods, kb & mouse, chat, etc.). It can't be that hard... And I will be one of the first on playing as I have to keep the good computer at my shop for work...

It's all too simple: Valve are basically selfish and lazy fanboys who just don't like Sony at all; they won't bother developing for the PS2, nor would they hire a fully-dedicated PS3 development team. It's a shame, really, compared to other companies like Infinity Ward, Naughty Dog, Ubisoft, etc.

Time to change, Valve. Make 2010 a huge difference for the PS3 community.

if valve read this please make COUNTER STRIKE 1.6 OR SOURCE a PSN content with full keyboard and mouse support, i will but this day if it launches, ps3 does have valve supporters and i wish for CS to come to PSN one day, please make this happen...somewhere around 2010.... oh and with fill keyboard and mouse support with dedicated servers and mod support just like UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3 for the ps3.

Why they get Orange Box to PS3? Everyone want to play L4D2 on PS3. That was so good the Modern Warfare 2 come to PS3. But the coming map pack, does it goes first to XBOX?.

kotsedriver, I totally agree with you, Valve really is missing a lot. I just can't get the point, why can't they make PS3 versions of these games, since the games would definately make profit?

I think it's really time for a change for Valve. All they have been is ♥♥♥♥♥ on the PlayStation 3 like there's no tomorrow. I see to them to hire mPS3 developers, get ahold of themselves, put aside the petty differences and bring us Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 on the PS3!

Valve is just missing a lot on a very huge fanbase. If they do, they will just lower their reputation even more. Employees like Gabe Newell and Chet Faliszek are just being whiny fanboys who are just blinded by the truth since they had experience with Microsoft. This has to stop NOW.

And no, I'm not a PS3 Fanboy, nor a 360 Fanboy; I own a PC and I own Left 4 Dead and I'm addicted to the online gameplay. However, I do have a PS3, and to this day I still think it was the best $600 I've ever spent in my life. I also still play Uncharted 2 and Modern Warfare 2 on PlayStation Network.

I totally agree with the group. Why should games like L4D and L4D2 only be released on PC and X360? Both PS3 and X360 are good consoles, no doubt about it, but this is just plain stupidity if you ask me. The X360 gaming community isn't better than the PS3 community in any way, nor is the PS3 community better than the X360 community.

I sincerely hope for Valve to make PS3 copies of these games. I know that there are many other people who claim the same as I do.

And no, I'm not a X360 fanboy or a PS3 fanboy. I own both L4D and L4D2 for the PC, but I own a PS3 console also, and that is why I don't like that we, the PS3 gamers are being discrimnated. Especially when we are talking about consoles that are almost evenly matched.

im just a PS3 fan,,, Vavle games should just stay on the PC cus thats where its at. You cant use custom content such as community made maps and so on the 360 ( Microsoft doesnt allow it) and PS3 for that matter doesnt either.Still love my PS3 Drake, Rachet, Snake, and Kratos are all sexy men as well as the other PS mascotes

Quit your crying. This is another excuse not to upgrade your own computer, or buy an Xbox 360. It was your own decision to buy the PS3, now rest on the fact that you want get certain games unless you buy the other console. It is so simple, and you're wanting a perfectly fine company to upgrade their employees 150 ---> to 250 just because you're too lazy to buy on the computer.

im a hardcore pc gamer, all the game that are 360, i can play it maxxed out on my amd phenom 550 4 cores unlocked, 3.5ghz overclocked with gtx275, but i still like PSN online, most of my friends are there and they are mature, rather than crazy shouting teens. i bought my 360 for gears and halo3 but i started hating the community of xbox live, 50 bucks gone for nothing.

I've never even used steam before... But I have played a few of Valves games' on my friends 360's and it sucks to see all their BS that they say about the PS3, I wish they'd either be honest about why they won't develop for PS3 or just be humble and admit they're lazy and ask for help developing for the PS3...

I don't really want to get involved with all the developer / community / system politics but all I will say is that Left 4 Dead needs to be played by as many people as possible, it's awesome! So the love should be spread to the PS3 world

It's the PC/Valve community who have 3 fingers pointing back at them. I was playing Left4Dead with some friends from GAF around the time Uncharted 2 launched, and they started to make fun of the game and the fact it's been getting a lot of love. Re-read that: they were making fun of a game because people love it. It's cool to hate something that everyone likes, I guess? The one friend boos me if I don't put the game down at the drop of a hat to play year-old L4D with him.

I don't see anything in the L4D2 demo or L4D1 that couldn't be done on a PS3 and PSN. The guy, Gabe, and a lot of the 360/PC community are just living in a bubble, that's all.

Why do you expect games from valve on a PS3? They are bunch of programmers like the team from Infinity Ward..

Hey guys, lets just drop all support for valve completely. In all honesty valve does not make any games that "you can't live without." Yes, I know that they do make some games that are fun and addictive, but none of them are completely original and you can find better alternatives elsewhere. Nazi Zombies mode in world at war is in my honest opinion more "hard core" and fun then Left 4 Dead. And as four counter strike and those other games, so many alternatives exist, and some are even better then the original so that counter strike is not needed anymore.

I Say let's boycott, well no boycott is too small of an action, lets completely stop buying games made by steam.

It's cute how they look out for us poor PS3 owners. They're not going to put a desired game on PS3 because the community isn't strong enough for their standards.

How about make lots of money off producing games for the PS3 users, and let us worry about bolstering the online community.

I'm not even that into L4D, but the ridiculous excuses for not putting multi-platform games on PS3 are old and tired and need to stop.

If a company doesn't plan to put it on another console, they should just be professional and say "there are no plans to put X game on Y platform" and move on. It's really not hard, and you might not lose potential customers who will pirate your "superior PC community" game just to spite you.

FYI ... It would be awesome if L4D was on the ps3 and i could challege PC gamers. I would totally buy both versions and setup private matches at home.

Valve, I am on Steam and bought HL2 way back when it first came out. I also bought the Orange Box. But that was before I saw what aloof jackasses you are. If the PS3 is too much of a burden for you to program, say so. Don't insult my intelligence by saying the community of PS3 wouldn't know how to play L4D2 the way it is meant to be played.

I won't be buying any more crap from Valve until you get your heads out of your asses.
