Hey guys, i've noticed with the new(ish) Hunt2.0 that even though it was designed to make matchmaking better, it may have been made worse.

Reacting to that (and listening to S.Maelstroms advice) we suggest that you jump into the group chat for the Evolve Saturdays group & team up there. This is by far the best & quickest way to find others. It will be almost instant IF people take up this opportunity.

We hope you take full advantage of this & start battling on Shear with your new buddies without the delay that Hunt2.0 is presenting you.

There are so many forum posts about how bad the matchmaker is and "How am I ever going to get out of Bronze ELO hell?" etc etc etc.

All I hear is "I have tried nothing and I'm all out of ideas".
-You don't want to communicate.
-You don't want to ask some decent hunter in a match to add you on steam
-You don't want to check here on the forum for other people that want to group up like here:

You just want the matchmaker to do you a heavenly match. It's tough in this game, since it's 4v1 and the 1 does not have to coordinate with others, while the others are all demoralized from previous games and just don't try anymore. Yeah imo bronze will always fight silver, no monster really has to stay in bronze unless he's in his first 50 matches. Tough luck.

But hei, I can try to give some general advice

General Ingame advice:
Tell everyone at the beginning of the match that there are 3 simple rules:
1 -> Spread out in a fight, never hold hands, monster AOE KILLS
2 -> Use jetpack fuel in a fight only to dodge abilities, at least as much as possible. Normal melee attacks can be shielded/healed, they are no biggie.
3 -> When you are spread, you should preferably be spread on highground/ledges, so that the monster has to jump/climb in order to get to you.

Advice I can give about individual hunters:

Val, stay far from the fight, your healing can be done from far away, all of your weapons have sufficient zoom to shoot from far away. Try a high point with good line of sight to all the surrounding area in the dome.

Laz, just stay out of the fight, when somebody dies, sometimes the best thing to do is fire a magazine into the monster from distance, cloak, run away in the opposite direction and never come back. If the monster has felt your bullets and knows you're around, he'll most likely camp the body 'till he really really bleeds. To do other things, heal in combat, swap cloak with support, not be seen by the monster because of jetpacks, this is advanced tips and too long to explain. It's better to just not pick Laz, because he is very dependent on the team dodging abilities and proper team positioning that avoids AOE.

Caira: stay at choke point/middle dome on high ground in the dome if possible in order to have line of sight; run behind circular stuff preferably while jumping (helps moving faster) and shooting on the ground if focused by the monster (even if this way you kinda ♥♥♥♥ Hank over because he can't shield you...it's a tough decision). Shoot nades at walls/floor where the hunters are going to be, not at the hunters themselves. Boring explanation for a boring medic smiley

Slim: when reloading primary gun, just switch and shoot a spore on the ground. That's about it tbh, Slim is supposed to be aggressive otherwise he can't heal. Remember the bug has no cooldown and it can pick up incapped team members.

Hank: Try to shield only abilities from monsters and not attacks, let the healer deal with melee damage, while your shield can reload. When the monster attacks you, mortar the area 10-15 meters BEHIND you, that's where the monster melee/ability will push you. don't mortar yourself, you'll get only 1-2 hits. Requires good timing but hey.

Bucket: Spread your sentries around HALF the dome, highish spots preferably. They will not all shoot, but some will always shoot, low constant damage is preferable, while allowing for your "smart" teammates to use that area and punish the monster. They are also harder to destroy by the monster and his abilities if they are spread out. Also highly annoying. If you see your medic/trapper die, go cloak them and tell them you're comming with a cloak maybe so that they know to stop shooting.

Sunny: Try to put the shield drone somewhere remote, where there are no people but with line of sight, so that the monster is forced to move there to destroy it while you're shooting him, or ignore it and suffer. If you put it in the combat area, it will be nullified by AoE. Also try to boost team members to help them dodge monster abilities, or when they are under 60% hp.

Cabot: No comment really, he's just a damage booster. Can make things easy, or really hard.

Maggie: PLEASE put your traps OUT of line of sight of each other, AT THE BASE of cliffs, so that monsters can't instantly climb. I can't explain how crucial this is. Then, you have a limit of 5 traps at the same time. If 3 activate at the same time, the monster destroys them with 1 hit. So 3 traps = 1 trap. But 3 traps is 10 seconds, 1 is 3 seconds. See what's happening here? So again, spread the traps so that as much as possible, only 1 activates at the same time on the monster, and put them at base of cliffs so that monsters can't climb. A harpoon will just pull them down.

Griffin: In a fight, try to sit on the opposite side of all the hunters, behind the monster. When the monster tries to climb to reach someone, or uses an ability that moves him, try to harpoon him. This is kinda difficult you need good reflexes, but it gives so much satisfaction and might win you the fight. 1 missed ability/time lost on climb is crucial for the monster.

Crow: trust in Gobi, Gobi is life. Worst trapper imo, can't say much.

Jack: is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. He's the opposite of Griffin, you need to have the team between you and the monster, while griffin needs to have the monster between him and the team. Just more OP 'cause monster can't break his stupid repulsor field. IMO just OP, won't give real advice on him.

Markov: Try to put mines after corners/on ledges where monster can't see them until they actually go boom, surprise! Also there is no point in putting mines together to be blown appart by 1 ability like flame breath/warp blast/lava bomb/aftershock, try to have them spread.

Hyde: Flamethrower has a bigger range than you'd think. You don't need to be that close. To see if you hit something when you're shooting (since the flame takes all the screen), watch the red circle in the middle of the screen. If it's red, means you're hitting something. Might be Caira's face but hey...as long as it's a face...Throw fart grenades when the monster is focusing someone, but on cooldown as much as possible, to stop him/punish him for focusing.

Parnell: Don't really know, if you're a CS expert with really good aim, he's awesome. Headshots with his supersoldier melt faces better than Hyde's flamethrower.

Torvald: ask @LIQUIDUTY . Mostly try to shoot mortars behind teammates that are under attack. Since the team mates will be thrown back, you will maybe hit.

Lennox: she is hardest to play with properly, imo. You need to judge your distances properly, if you're too close you will be hit and multiplier goes buh bye, too far and you miss, multiplier goes. Also if you are trigger happy and spam the fire button on the lance, you will always lose the multiplier. You have to judge every click smile
