And labeled it "Abandonware", which was well deserved at the time. However, we've recently released a major update and I wanted to ask you to maybe give it another look. You will be very pleasantly surprised ;)
Is not abandoned. I had to get HDDs repaired to save files and re-started work at the end of 2020. Just launched out of EA on 4 September.
doesnt look abandoned anymore, it has a recent update and is 90%

Thank you very much for contacting and updating on the status of your game. I went ahead and changed the curator review to reflect the new update on June 7th, 2021, which follows the previous May 12th, 2020 update. The label was placed due to a lack of communication on the discussion boards/updates provided that lasted over a period of six months, combined with a lack of game updates that lasted over six months, which I usually give the benefit of the doubt if there is at least communication, up to a year.
Due to how many games I have to keep track of (which I admit over the past few months has been made harder due to computer issues), and the number of failed positives/no communication with emails, general communication on the discussion boards and update announcements are usually the defining marker as it is the platform the game is being sold on. I am glad to see the game is receiving updates again and hope to see it reach full release soon.
ExtraGalactica is currently listed as "Abandonware" and that simply is not the case. I really wish some sort of contact would've been attempted before slapping an untrue label on our work. Even just looking at our twitter would've shown you that there is active and ongoing work here. =(
Please update your curator review
I reviewed your game and removed the curate given your update on April 19th, 2020 and comms within the last six months. Given how many games tend to go dormant or fail to update even with routine comms, I established the Hiatus label to help warn that updates are not as frequent as people might expect. I understand indies might have sparse update schedules, but felt there needed to be a warning category given how often developers disappear or stop updating. I agree I should include attempts to reach developers, especially before using the abandonware label ( game fails to update in 6 months with no comms / up to a year without updates with comms within the six months), but considering how many games are currently in the program and being added weekly (many regulating conversation to Discord instead of Steam Discussion boards) it would be incredibly time consuming for one person. It is not an excuse, I do need to communication with developers in general.
Thank you very much for the information. I reviewed the update history of the game and adjusted the curate to reflect the update history.

I thank you for the notification regarding your resumed development following your wedding (congratulations on the joyful occasion)! I do admit I should have listed the game as Hiatus, but due to how long it is taking me these days to manually check and how close to the six month mark without communication it was when I made it, I made the call. I have removed the curate though as the communication on November 24th, 2019 makes it fall under Hiatus status, and the recent updates break that status as well. I am happy to see it is still being worked on and hope that continued development goes smoothly in the future.
I am the dev of Under a Desert Sun. I noticed you concidered my game abandonware since I had a short break during our wedding period. Would be nice if that could be changed since I've been releasing several updates including new airplane mechanics, animations for enemies and soon hopefully oculus support.
Kind regards,
Raymond
