Add "-novid" without the quotes to the launch properties of your steam games to remove those pesky Valve startup videos. Especially useful for L4D since no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ about the introduction movie anymore.

Computer also has virus. Probably be up and running tommorow. The good news is that they got it to boot fine and it looks like just a buildup of dust inside the case was the cause of the problem.
